coffee is great here, they stick to the basics. and thats i need from a coffee. Im not really into the sugary crap like starbucks. If i do, id go for a bubble tea. I really like their coffee here. it hits the spot and gives me the kick i need without the sugar. its a huge place, but i can never get a seat somone where though. there is an awesome patio area when it's sunny right outside were i can chill to enjoy my cup of joe. good place for a grab and go, but not to chill and linger.

Why is the coffee always lukewarm?

First the good: I like the muffins (though the blackberry bran is tasteless), and the coffee is definitely better than many places in the area. I like the decor, which is comfortable and a pleasant place to read, relax, and people watch.
The bad? The coffee is always lukewarm. If you let your coffee sit for more than 5 minutes, it will be cold. Perhaps this is their policy so that people won't linger long without buying more? Also, the staff are generally surly and aloof. The place is far from spotless, but you're more likely to see the staff chatting amongst themselves behind the counter than clearing tables, wiping the counter, and the like.
This isn't hurting business, however, as the place is always busy. But more and more locals are getting fed up with JJ Bean, and heading up the road to Bean Around the World (at Main and 20th). Better coffee, better service, and better food.

Decent coffee house

A funky coffee house that needs more attention to details such as cleanliness and upkeep.
Toilets are not very clean and tables and chairs are not wiped as often as I'd liked due to turnover. Side counter is a mess most of the time!

Food selection is okay but not much to choose from. Coffee and tea selection is excellent.

I do prefer this place over Starbucks across the street.
