Dinner before Canucks game

paid $14+ for a burger that was burnt. Mcdonalds has better burgers.
Fries came in a bowl, looked like scrap bits from the bottom of bin. Each fry was half inch long and dark brown, almost black. Wife had chicken strips&fries.Strips looked good.Fries were also small burnt chunks.
Asked server 3 times for some extra sauce for burger that hardly had any.Never did end up getting any.

So happy I found this gem. Our server was really outgoing and helpful. The wings were cooked perfectly and Thai bites were delicious. Had a lemon meringue martini that was priced well and was sweet and scrumptious! A great casual place to go to before going to an event or club. Maybe add some more to the menu.

not very good

I just went to dinner here with my friend. I've been here before to watch ufcs and had drinks but never eaten here before. Well, I did tonite and I wish I hadn't. It's a decent room and being nice out we sat out on the patio. The server wasn't very good as she didn't even ask us if we were eating or just having drinks, and we weren't even given the fresh sheet until we told her we were eating. So my friend had the salmon which she complained that the veggies were just soaking in oil. I had the pizza which tasty kinda weird and frozen. Anyways I know this place is just a "pub" but I expected a little better food than that. I won't be back to eat again that's for sure. I might come back for beers and to watch the ufc though, we'll see.

Great Place To Street People Watch

To be fair went here yesterday and just ordered beer and yam fries so I really can't comment much on their food. Just a couple of observations about Jimmy's. They have a great patio with a very eclectic mix of people walking by. In the span of about an hour and a half we experienced a number of interesting souls walking by the patio including one guy who dropped down on the sidewalk and proceeded to do a half dozen push up's and then went on his way. We were asked for spare change while sitting curbside on the patio twice, not too mention a couple of odd souls who stopped in front of where we were sitting and starred at us. Of course can't blame the social ills of Vancouver on Jimmy's.
As for the yam fries, well they were yam fries, if you can't cook yam fries you may as well close up shop. Our $7.00 order of yam fries came on a rather small white plate, think they may of counted them out in the kitchen like dealing cards. Come on guys, be a little more generous with the portion size.
Our waitress had zero, zip, nada personality. A nice looking order taker with little else to offer.
The beer was nice and cold. I want to try Jimmy's again this summer on the patio and order lunch or something to really see what the food is like however next time I think we'll sit back from the curb a bit. A very nice patio right across from the beautiful public library with "weirdness" all around. Two pitchers of Russell Cream Ale and yam fries, $48.00

Slack Snarky Service

Agreed, Jimmy's has a sleek look and a terrific downtown location, however the service was snarky and rude.

Although initially fairly attentive, halfway through our beers (a patio table of six service workers) our server became incredibly dispondant, rude and snappy...she succeeded to embarass our newly arrived friend at our table, huff in exasperation over the request of one separate bill (for a single dish), and literally stomp off after collecting our money.

The food was passable, 35 cent wings are difficult to complain about, but nothing was worth the way she threw a damper to our post work relaxation.

I for one, will not be back.

Great little place to watch a game!

I've gone to Jimmy's liquor store many times but never even new there was a pub around the corner. My buddy suggested Jimmy's for the great draft beer and food specials in the afternoons so we met there Tuesday to watch the Phoenix game and wow! All appetizers were half price and 35 cent wings during any Canucks game! Our server Alisa was awesome! Attentive, proffessional and super funny. Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager was on special and served ice cold in a frosted glass, nice! We had the calamari, not the Greek style, thicker slices dredged in rice flour fried and served with a spicy cilantro salsa, very good. We also had the Thai chili chicken, steak bites and of course some wings. Great evening, well, it's always nice when the Canucks win as well. I'll be back Sunday for half price pizzas and $3.99 pints of Bud.
