Why the line ups? It's not that this sushi restaurant is really good, it's just that the service is slow. I've been here about 3-4 times and unless u go at off hours, the service is very SLOW! The food really isn't worth the wait. Sushi is good quality though.

Sadly, the food and service of Irashi restaurant didn't match up with the decor. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come. While the chicken terriyaki and gyoza are not bad, the shrimps in the sumonomo are evidently overcooked and lost its fresh elasticity and texture when you bite into it. The sushi pieces are not even, some poorly wrapped. Some are wrapped in a thin layer of ricea nd some doubled the thickness. The bento boxes felt like a rip since it didn't even come with rice to go with the terriyaki. An diappointment overall.

So delicious. Yes, sometimes the service is slow, but if you know what you want to order, a dinner can be served quickly and deliciously within 45 minutes. I definitely recommend the Toro Tartare which is not only scrumptious but shareable and innovative too. The classic dishes are spot on. Yes, these restaurant is busy and packed, filled to the brim with Kerrisdale residents. But, it feels like a family restaurant, and you leave filled and happy. Satisfaction 100%.
