From the Infuze Tea House website:
INFUZE is a contemporary bar-style tea house that offers a unique and healthy alternative to the everyday beverage experience. In addition to a dynamic selection of speciality loose-leaf teas, INFUZE also features a growing selection of tea blended beverages including Rooibos Latte and a Chai that is brewed fresh from scratch throughout the day. Whether consumed at our tea house or taken on the go, every cup is brewed just right.
Infuze tea house has the best matcha green tea! I go here to get my fix for the matcha latte. I liked it so much, I got myself a little starter kit for making my own. Although pretty pricey for a small tin of matcha powder ($30), I soon found out that was the price for most others too. I really splurged for the Japanese tea whisk, which is crucial in making a good tea, which was another $35.
I had also ordered a matcha merigue cookie to go with my tea. It was an unusual but good treat.
My favorite thing about Infuze? Order your tea, sit and relax with the large supply of magazines available for your reading pleasure.
I was lured in here by a colleague from work who praised the matcha latte. I needed a boost on a long Friday afternoon, so in I went. The place looked very cool (and clean) inside, and the service was top notch.
I decided to be "Mr. Contrary" and went for the Masala chai. It was awesome. Frothy and flavorful, with just the right amount of burn. The flavor was full, not overwhelming.
If I had one gripe it was that the large-size cost almost 5 bucks. Okay, so that is not out of line for downtown, but still it seemed like a bit of a rip. It is just a cup of tea after all.
Try it if you have extra cash...
I don't know what's happening with their locations, but I've been to the one on Denman a few times to try them out. Sure they have a selection of teas but their drinks could use some work. I've tried several teas on their own and each time got some sort of residual tea taste probably left over from the last customer's tea. Not something that I would expect from a place held so high in standard. As for their matcha? I was disappointed that they didn't whisk matcha like they did before. Would have been nice to see something more authentic.
Infuze offers a wide selection of quality teas, including green, black, white, oolong and herbal teas. But it is what Infuze does with the teas that sets it apart from any other tea house. Many teas are available as lattes, frappes, herbal infusions and "power" drinks. My favourites are matcha latte (the best green tea in a smooth latte), royal milk (assam tea with rose petals), strawberry milk (ceylon tea with small dried strawberries floating on top) and rooibos latte. Infuze does have a small food selection, but I haven't eaten anything there — I've been too busy drinking tea!
