Indian food in the City Square Food Court at the corner of Cambie & W 12th. Assortment of meat & veg curries, naan bread, chai tea.
It's great to have a good Indian food place among the usual boring food court denizens (burger joint, faux Japanese place, etc etc) in City Square. They usually have about 8 or 10 curries available, 4 of them vegetarian. For $5.25 the one dish combo includes a curry, rice, and naan bread. The two dish combo is $6.50 and you get an extra curry. A drink adds another 75 cents. I'd recommend the chai tea, which is made fresh and not too sweet. The owner makes the naan on the premises, and the last time I went he made it up fresh for me.
Overall I'd rate it the food as "good", but for a food court joint it's amazing. Also, the owner is a very friendly guy who obviously cares about what you think of his cooking. That alone would make me choose it over the chain stores.
