Take Out and Dine-In Taiwanese Beef Noodle Restaurant.
Heard about this place from a friend who kept insisting that I try it.
The restaurant is a small hole-in-the-wall family owned place. Location-wise, it's caught in between a 7-11 (not located at a busy intersection) and residential houses at the south Victoria Drive area - south of 49th Ave. Somewhat difficult for passerby to spot because of this.
Anyway, on to the review:
The menu is quite simple - several varieties of Beef Noodles and some small appies such as gyozas and pork tongue. The noodles are very very good. As a self-proclaimed noodles-in-soup connoisseur, I'm quite certain that they make their own noodles fresh from dough, as the texture and chewiness are different (in a good way) from packaged/pre-maid noodles. The portions are satisfying and the meat was very tender. Broth was to die for... warning, if you order super spicy, be prepared!!!
Traffic was constant - folks come in, eat, pay, go. So table turnover is quite high at a steady rate. Having said that, this place is tiny, so you may have to wait if there's a line-up. I'd imagine the weekday lunch rush is quite busy since David Thompson High School is just a couple blocks away. Not sure what time this place is open until, but I'd love to drop by late-night if they're open.
