Not very good at all

Came here (on July 30 '10) because of the previous ratings. Not coming back.

It seems to be family owned. Very nice people - checked up on us a few times.

Our order: yam fries, deluxe burger, open-faced chicken sandwich and dinner-sized fettuccini alfredo. Yam fries and french fries (with the burger and sandiwich) were only slightly warm, alfredo sauce had hardly any flavour (according to my kids), burger and sandwich - nothing to write home about. The order did take a while to be brought to our table (about 20 min.) and we were pretty much the only customers there - except for the take-out order (which was ordered after us and they got theirs first). All for $37 (including tips).

Disappointed.

A friend of mine told me about Heidi's so I decided to check it out as it was conviniently located on my route to work. When I first walked in, I was greeted immidiately by the very friendly staff. I love the coziness and cleanliness of the place. The walls are painted in rich, warm tones which I find very inviting. The place is kid friendly which is a definite bonus. There are high chairs, crayons and colouring books to keep the little ones busy while the adults eat. The dining are isn't very big but don't let this fool because the portions are huge!

The food that they serve is fresh and tasty. The portions are large for the price that you pay. One can definitely get bang for their buck. I love their amazing breakfasts which are so filling and not greasy at all and quite affordable as compared to other diners. They have the fluffiest buttermilk pancakes I've ever had. They also have yam fries that come with a very yummy aioli. It's seasoned just right without the garlic overpowering it. They also have crisp, lightly breaded calamari which is delicious and surprisingly not greasy at all. They have a selection of fresh salads with the dressings all made in house and not from a bottle.

If one is in a rush, take out is available. If not too hungry, one can try some freshly baked goods from the diplay case and have their freshly brewed organic coffees and healthy smoothies.

They have a lot of items on their menu that I am looking forward to trying. I've been back at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food and the service I have recevied.

Heidi's is definitely a great local, family restaurant that serves fresh and delicious food.
