Since it was Victoria Day yesterday, many restaurants were fully booked and we were silly not to make reservations earlier. We decided on chinese and basically one of the only restaurants that weren't completely full was Happy Date on First. Btw, how did they get to add the "bakery" part to their restaurant name?
We got a table right away and noticed that almost every other table had a reserved sign on it. Lucky us, we got a table. They sat our 8 person party into a 6 person table and added 2 stools. We asked since the other parties weren't here yet, if we could use their comfortable chairs instead. They said no. The tables here were so tightly packed together that our chairs and the chairs in the other tables were back to back. I wonder if it's safe to be so over max. capacity on a second level building. The food came very quickly and we were in the middle of eating when a waitress came by and suddenly started hoisting my very elderly grandma because we wanted to shift our table to make more space. Also I noticed that the reserved signs on the other tables magically disappeared. What is that all about?
Overall the service here is nothing but rude as I noticed they shoved my dad out of the way as she passed him on the way to the restrooms. The food was okay, but not inexpensive.
I might come back, but the overcrowded restaurant just might unattract me to.
I always come here when I'm in the area and in need for some cheap, filling, and simple breakfast. I've only tried their breakfast here and they seem to be alright. Many selections of eggs, hams, sausages, with macaroni soup or instant noodle. Other dishes include fried rice or noodles or other fast chinese food. The quality is reliable maybe cuz it's so simple to make them that it's impossible to do sth wrong. I will definitely recommend this place to ppl who wanna b filled yet don't wanna break the bank.
The service was terrible, my aunt ordered some "GONE CHOW GNOW HOA" and it was the size of a CD case and it took them half an hour just to get it to us. We felt the service was really bad, so we gave them only about a dollar and they tracked us down and forced us to pay more tip.
