Guilt & Company is located underneath Chill Winston in Gastown. Mostly a bar with a wide selection of drinks but they do serve very light snacks. Live entertainment including comedy night and board games if you are bored.
This isn't really a restaurant per se, more of a bar that serves some pretty light fare including home made potato chips, pepperoni sticks, beef tartare, etc. All of these dishes I tried and they were all decent or good. But really, the food is just a bonus. They also have a wide selection of cocktails, wine and beer that you'd expect from a bar.
Where Guilt and Company really shines though is the ambiance. The inside has (faux?) stone walls and a giant wood bar to the side. The bathroom is unisex with stalls only and a common area where the sinks are which can make for some interesting conversation/eavesdropping when you are washing your hands. To top it off the servers are enthusiastically dressed in what appears to be swiss mountaineer type getups replete with suspenders and almost comical hats. They have live entertainment which, when I was there, consisted of three musicians who had never played together and was an interesting experiment that seemed to improve with time.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable few hours I spent in the depths below Gastown. I will be back.
I enjoyed drinks here with a friend one evening at the beautiful wooden bar. The bartender was friendly and mixed us the best whisky sours I've ever had. The ambiance of this place is what really impressed me. The music, lighting, and people watching is spectacular. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this place, and would recommend it to friends!
