Grounds for Coffee is a cafe best known for their cinnamon buns as well as their organic and fair trade coffee drinks.
That's really all you need to know here. There is absolutely no comparing these to anythign else in my opinion!
Lucky for me (or not) I live close to their Alma location so these delicious treats are available to me any time.
Get them warm out of the oven with extra icing and a strong coffee and you're all set for a glorious weekend!
Life changing buns!
this place is really known for their cinnamon buns...people wait in line every morning for them. while they look and smell absolutely delicious i hate to admit i have never tried them becuase i have been lured by their healthy alternative- the super muffins.
they have reduced fat, hearty whole wheat muffins. their flax muffin is a solid meal. if you're feeling more adventurous they also have strawberry, blueberry, and mochachino flavours...their muffin selection tends to vary.
and as the name implies, this is a coffee shop but they also have a large open kitchen where they bake their muffins and buns all day.
definately try it! the food is delicious, the coffee is great and you can go healthy (muffin) or indulge (cinnabun).
i admit that their cinnamon roll is tasty. i often get sick of cinnamon flavour when eating a whole big cinnamon bun, or if i eat my cinnamon bun slowly and so the bun is cooling down in the air. but not this time. i could finish the whole bun without feeling nauseous. even after the bun became cold, it didn't make me sick. for the drink i ordered a white chocolate raspberry frapps. it's kinda unique but very good as well. however, the muffin doesn't taste that good. i guess that's because the muffin is fat-reduced, but it tasted plain, just like a whole wheat bread. but if it's really low fat n low calorie, then it's okay. the size of the muffin is huge though.
the service, ambiance, n value i think are just standard.
