Although the food was incredible tasty (I loved it so much), the ambiance and the service was really poor. Just a girl sitting behind her cash register and yeah, no ambiance at all. No background music, no lovely flowers on the tables or something else, just tables, stools and food, that's it! You could do much more on this place, design is everything!!!

But, I've never had such tasty vegetarian food, not even in one of the best Indian Restaurants in town...Kudos!

Most of the hot dishes are original oriental vegetarian tasty food. All offered dishes are fresh nutritional and very healthy food. Every time I eat at Greens and Gourmet I feel good especially when I ask for a large cup of fresh fruit juice. Ambient is gorgeous to my taste, service is fine and prices are OK.

I got use to this place, food is healthy and delicious. Large variety of fresh vegetables and salads in the cool buffet and about 15 different delightful vegetarian dishes in the hot buffet. I love the cheesecakes pies, crumbles, soy rice pudding, love bars, and dates squares. Mmmmmm.
Large variety of tees, chai and coffee. Nice music and beautifully peaceful environment..

Food- I really used to like greens and gourmet. They had some really yummy dressings, spring rolls and desserts, which isn't the case anymore. Now everything is old looking and loaded with sugar. I don't mind sugar but all their sauces taste too sweet.

Service- It's okay. I've stood there for awhile, hot food in hand waiting to pay. Most of the time they're friendly and prompt though.

Value- I used to go every two months or so, as it's a bit of a drive. It seems like everytime I go the prices increase. I've noticed that I'm leaving hungry, because I can't afford a $25.00 plate of veggies. I have stopped going altogether.

Ambiance - Holy 70's. I guess you don't go to a buffet restaurant for the looks of the place, but it would be a really beautiful space if they just fixed it up a bit.

overall, I think they're going through a rough patch. As much as I'd like to support one of my old faves, I just can't justify spending way too much for way too little medicore food. Still crave the old miso tofu....

this place is way over-priced , full service prices for self-serve.
The food must sit out all day...Its dry and just warm not hot! I have been twice for dinner in the last year and it was just as bad both times! The space is large and comfortable, but thats all it has going for it ....this place is terible. I wont return.

The Exxon Mobil of all Cafeterias

This place is just overpriced like the war in Iraq. Seriously. For a cafeteria-type of restaurant, this one charges like Earls. With Whole Foods and Naam just around the corner, G&G should lower their prices. LOW as in 30-40% less. The discount coupon with $5 savings after 1 million visit is some kind of joke.

The food is "okay". They need to get rid of SUGAR from the ingredients. "Organic" doesn't help. That's like Organic Pepsi. Get rid of the sugar. You look rather silly with the "No Wheat" sign. Both raises insulin! Also, the salad bar cooler needs to be inspected. Food are not fresh, avocados are just plain nasty. Even avocados at mall food court are fresh.

I first went here 2 years ago, and was so disappointed. I went again recently, as some friends suggested it as a good place to have a meeting.

I had the same disappointments as I did 2 years ago. It's overpriced, the food isn't that great - but I will admit that the miso tofu, kofta balls and rice pudding were quite good. All of the other items I tried weren't that great, and I could probably do a better job of cooking them myself, at home.

I decided to have the rice pudding for dessert as the pies all looked so old and unappealing. My friend tried the blueberry pie and he said it wasn't very good.

It's probably a good place for a meeting, as they have large tables, and it's quiet in there.

the prices have increased since new management took over, i liked it more when it was still woodlands, and it seems that they are always hiring. yes the place looks old, but i kinds like the 70ies ambience, i wish they would have an AYCE buffet, to make it worthwhile, some of the ingredients in the salad bar can look old because they been sitting there some time, i guess the best to go is early lunch, i never had their deserts and judging from previous submitters would not pursue it anytime soon. but i do like the what you see is what you get deal, sometimes i like to see how my food is gonna look like before i order it. i like to see more variety in their buffet, as it seems to be always the same and repetitive. i know vegetarian food can be more exciting than this.

I was on my way home and stopped in for a fresh juice. I ordered and sat down and waited for the girl to make it. There was just one person working the front and so I was OK with the juice taking a while for her to make. So she made the juice and then left it sitting to cash out a customer. Then chatted with a friend and then cashed out another customer and was about to cash out another when I stood in line and asked her to just pour the juice into a glass so I could drink it. To which she replied " There isn't a full glass and I have to help out the people with hot food first"!!! To which I was annoyed because I had been way ahead of all these people and had waited much longer. I told her that that was really bad customer service. She finally poured my juice-only after the next customer she was next about to help insisted-and was still talking about how things were suppose to be done there as I was walking away.
This is the last time I will going to the Greens and Gourmet. Every time has been a bad experience-sadly.

I really have no other word to describe this place. For the longest time (over 5 years?) I have wanted to try this place, in anticipation that its food might rival Naam's. But, sadly, I was disappointed with three major things: the "hot" food was lukewarm, the food price was way too expensive, and the chairs were dirty. As this was a buffet and my eyes were bigger than my stomach, I filled up my plate with almost everything -- only to be partially satisfied with the veggie samosa. For the two of us, the bill came out to around $30! And that was without any drinks!
I was also displeased with the cleanliness of the restaurant. There were several open tables, but all had dirty upholstered chairs, and one still had dirty napkins leftover from a previous customer.
Despite the friendly service, I don't think I'll come back here again.

This by-weight buffet place is a rip-off. A small woman with a delicate appetite can look forward to a $10 meal she could fit in one hand. Forget taking anyone with a heartier appetite here unless you want to shell out $20 for an average plate of food. Expect no leftovers

In five years, the menu has barely changed. There are some (ie, one) good item(s) here; Tofu Pakoras are simple but tasty. Friends of mine have enjoyed the Miso-Honey Tofu (or something like that); I find it overly salty. They used to have great samosas that were tasty and filling for 99 cents, but have gradually dwindled to a paltry sack of potatoes in greasy pastry for almost twice that.

Plan to be disappointed at the dessert bar. Their cakes and pies often look neglected, dejected, and downright old. The chocolate cake is dry and uninspiring, and the cookies are powdery. They used to have a great Love Bar, but soon after introducing this item, they whittled down the portions, flavour, and pleasure. It now bears more resemblance to a Bitter Breakup Bar. Both vegan and nonvegan cheesecakes are topped with a disgusting 3-inch-thick jammy substance, and the filling for the vegan one is gross and tofu-y.

I once asked about the perpetual Help Wanted sign this place displays in the window like a pretty hanging plant. I was haughtily told that they were looking for someone with "considerable cooking experience" as opposed to someone who could just "bake well at home". They might be better off bringing in someone with real talent, regardless of their credentials, and spicing up their boring menu and abysmal sweets section.

I will say that the staff have always been polite and kind. Perhaps this is why I occasionally go back here, hoping for similarly positive experiences with the food.

It is unfair to hold this place to be as good as some of the other vegetarian buffets I have been to in other cities. That being said, it doesn't compare.

The salad bar is ok, expensive.

The hot food is ok, expensive.

You will pay $15 for a filling plate, which sort of sucks.

None of the items on the menu are noteworthy!

If you're vegan, that's another story, but if I were you I would walk down mcdonald to 4th and eat at the naam.

I am impressed by G+G's vegetarian buffet idea. All the ingredients of each item are listed and I'm sure this really helpful for vegans, and those with food allergies. However after being a regular here for quite some time every time I have visited I have discovered something new that turns me off. And now I have no desire to return to Greens and Gourmet ever again.

1. The dessert cooler is next to the hot buffet. If you look you will see that years worth of gross moldy old food from the hot buffet is caked onto the side of the dessert cooler which probably has never been cleaned. ever.

2. During the summer months there are tons of flies buzzing around the salad bar

3. People are always complaining about their high prices but for some reason prices keep rising. The last time I had been there after not visiting them for a month, the buffet price had risen 20 cents per 100 grams

4. The food is usually old. The dishes that are there in the morning will be there in the evening and are only changed when they run out. The dishes that are there in the evening will reappear next morning with the vegetables looking wrinkly and old. Also if you're interested in a dessert you should really ask one of the cashiers how old it is.....

5. They really don't seem to care about cleaning the vegetables in the salad bar. I have had to pick out spinach leaves that are blackening, lettuce leaves that are dirty, and broccoli that looks yellow.

Greens is a great place to go if you are in a hurry or not in the mood to sit down and be served. Their selection is very solid - the only downside is that they do like to use more oil and sugar in many dishes then I prefer.

The prices are really OK and the tastes are really quite good. I was nervous when they moved from across the street but this new location seems to serve them well with the added space.

Wow....this place really feels like something out of the 1970s - check out those lamps! It's kinda cool, though. I remember when it used to be Woodlands, and there was a natural foods store downstairs. They have quite an extensive buffet, filled with salads and hot items....curry, rice, tortellini, scallopped potatoes, spring rolls, samosas, tofu. Everything is pretty tasty, and oh-so-Kitsilano. It isn't an AYCE buffet, though, keep in mind. You have to pay by the weight, which can get kinda pricey if you like your veggies. They have a few desserts that are OK. My son had a pie that was sort of like a chocolate pudding pie, but made with tofu. It wasn't bad. The fellow at the cash register was extremely friendly, so extra points to him!
