I went here after dinner last night, even though I was stuffed from eating at Salam Bombay. I had the limone and the green apple. Green apple was a bit sweet, but that was probably because of the tartness of the limone. I also had a taste of the chocolate orange.
Yummy stuff, is all I can say.
I'm not sure what all the rave reviews are about here, but I've been to Mondo's many a time, and I've never found it 5-star worthy. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but no different than any other decent gelato shop. It's often crowded though, and I've sometimes noticed it smelling a little strange. Other than that, no real complaints, but I just had to get my two cents in, as in terms of gelato quality, I don't think people should be deceived into thinking they're getting the best gelato in Vancouver.
I have had my fair share of Gelato in this city, all good, but Mondo Gelato really takes the cake:)
Mondo Gelato on Robson has a wide variety of superb flavours at a good price. Pistacchio and Nutella are tooo die for!
I have to applaud the employeesof Mondo because I have seen this store absolutely packed with a billion customers and they still manage to get everyone served as fast as possible:)
Unfortunatly, I have also witnessed some customers who are unbelievably rude to them during these busy times:( come on guys lets give em a break~
well done Mondo Gelato~!
This place offers great gelato rain or shine. And in Vancouver, it rains more than shines. No matter. It could be minus 20 and I would still honor a craving for their tasty treats. The nice thing about the two for one scoop is that you can get something rich like dark chocolate and something tart like lemoncello or pink grapefruit, and let the two flavors play off eachother.
Well Done, I say!
I live three blocks from here, and that's not a good thing. Been many, many...many times. natural flavour, silky texture - this is it. The pistachio is easily the best version of that flavour I've ever had - try it and compare with what you often get elsewhere (flavourless gelato studded with soft, gummy pistachio nuts that taste like they've been cured in something medicinal). other favourites include the orange chocolate and a really nice mint (its called after eight but its straight-up mint), and my wife loves the grapefruit and papaya sorbets (the papaya is, sadly, a rare offering - try it if its there). after reading the other reviews it looks like black sesame needs a try. never took anyone there who didn't like it.
in a large amount of visits, had only one disappointment - had an off batch of the normally spectacular dark chocolate (if you order it ask to taste it first - the one batch tasted like it was seriously lacking sugar, this coming from a fan of bitter chocolate).
