Fresh Bowl serves a variety of Asian quick serve dishes with eat-in, takeout and internet-ordered delivery options.
I've always thought it interesting to see a restaurant revamped with the same management. As one of their original customers with my gfs I expected better service. Maybe he forgot as he does seem to be on the losing side of 50's maybe. The owner has a quaff of arrogance although he feigns interests like you're his "best customer" when in reality you're just another number on the cash register. How unfortunate.
Ordered a chicken pad thai I believe. In reality it tasted like soy sauce with MSG. As a Caucasian this is what I would make at home...lolz!
Price: $10 for a bowl of noodles!!! Overvalued. Premium prices for "unorganic" produce that my gfs and I can cook and literally make ourselves.
Portion: For a petite girl it would suffice. However for anyone else it's the equivalent of a happy meal. Maybe they should include a cute toy with their little bowls.
Customer Service: As I said I expected better service rather than getting rushed out.
Owner was sucking up to every customer when it was Jonkers Street now you lost my business FOREVER for your lack of customer service, and sincerity. Just another short sided merchant in a long list of establishments that will come in and go.
If you want authentic Thai food go to Simply Thai across the street in the heart of Yaletown or Urban Thai. Fantastic service and with $10 you get much for what you pay for.
Off to the next review...
I live in the Yaletown area so one day the wife and I decided to try out this new fast food asian joint.
I have the feeling it is owned by the same owners as the previous restaurant that sat in this spot (Jonker Street Cafe) which rarely had any business. But It looked bright and very clean inside so we thought we'd give it a shot
Boy were we disappointed. We ordered a Thai green curry and a Malaysian Yellow Curry and neither was good at all. They were both extremely bland, and the amount of food you received for an $11 rice bowl was extremely poor value. If they charged $9 for it I'd still consider it extremely poor value.
Although the wife and I did not try anything else, we do not plan on trying this place again as its just not worth it at all.
