Fresh Bowl serves a variety of Asian quick serve dishes with eat-in, takeout and internet-ordered delivery options.
I'm a bit of a SE Asian food snob and didn't have high expectations for this place. But I was in a rush and wanted take-out that was a bit different, so I gave it a shot.
I ordered the Sambal Chicken with the "Jambori" rice (nice that I could opt for a more interesting rice) and Temple Salad. The Sambal Chicken actually had some kick to it, and had a nice blend of flavors rather than the one-dimensional flavors you can sometimes get at other SE Asian places. The salad had a really tasty dressing, and had lots of herbs (mint, cilantro) to take it beyond just a pedestrian bowl of greens.
The portion size of the two looked quite small when I eyeballed it, but once I shared the chicken and salad with another person and we were both stuffed afterwards. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised. I also really appreciated that they used compostable/recyclable take-out containers, something that most places can't be bothered to do.
I didn't get anything that might be more difficult to pull off authentic flavors (i.e. beef rendang, gado gado, roti canai, laksa) but will give it a go next time around, along with some of their house-made teas.
