Located in The Georgian Court Hotel, Frankie’s Italian Kitchen offers authentic family recipes and flavours of southern Italy as well as newly inspired Italian dishes.
We arrived at Frankie's around 6:30 with a reservation. We were seated promptly but unfortunately no one came over to our table until the manager noticed after 10 minutes or so and got us drinks which was great.
Finally, our server came to our table and asked us if we would like a drink after we had our drinks served and they were full, sitting in front of us. Later on subsequent drink orders, we had to ask where they were. She forgot to ring in our appetizers and we were quite surprised when our entrees arrived and we hadn't see our appies yet. They comped us a drink since we just ended up skipping them in the end. Overall, she just seemed lost and quite clueless making our dining experience quite painful.
Aside from the awful service from our server, the rest of the experience was good. I ordered the seafood pasta which was very tasty and had a surprisingly generous portion of seafood on it. I would've given it a higher rating but there was some grit or sand in it, I guess some of the seafood hadn't been cleaned thoroughly.
The manager stepped up and helped out a lot with our table so that was the lone bright spot with the service. Our server should consider a career change though; I can't recall getting such bad service in Vancouver in recent memory.
Had a great meal here the other night consisting of Seafood Linguini and Beef Tenderloin. The pasta was totally awesome with a TON of seafood! It also had a great sauce, but it was the perfect amount, and the seasoning was super flavourfull. My Beef was cooked to perfection. The room is very big and comfortable with lots of room to move around. I really enjoyed their background music, even though it could have been turned down a wee bit. Our server did a pretty good job, even though she seemed quite busy. We got to talking to the people beside us, and they were from Toronto and staying at the hotel that is part of the whole building, and they informed us that their breakfast that day was to die for. They had eggs benny. Anyway, we are going back soon, and also find the prices quite reasonable!
