Thank you Federico

I recently spent two weeks enjoying Vancouver and all it has to offer. My cousin, being a resident of the city, knew all the spots that were unusual and took me on a whirlwind tour to see it all.
My last evening in Vancouver was spent in this restaurant. It has an atmosphere that makes patrons feel immediately welcome and comfortable while maintaining a feeling of indulgence.
From rich delicious food and wine to old world service the place was a joy.
Not to mention I was not warned about Federico. For you who have not yet seen this young man take the time to do so. He has the face of an angel and a voice to match. Whether it be in his own Italian language, or Chinese, Russian or English, all of which he sang, his voice is stunning.
I spent the evening eating, drinking, dancing and enjoyed every minute. It was a highlight of my vacation.

This place reminds me of a wedding reception, large tables of people you dont' know looking to dance and drink. Lots of families, not may kids though, its a grown up place, late nights. One seating a night, reserve well in advance, good for groups of 6 to 10. Tons of fun, Fredrico is entertaining and all in all I had a great time there. Really good place for a birthday party, which most people already seem to know since there was about 10 birthdays there last time I went. Not fancy, old fashioned and fun. Service was not bad, food very good if you like traditional Italian. I will be back.

I just attended a comedy dinner show called "Comedy Armada" hosted by Vic Lippucci at Federico's Supper Club on May 3rd, 2006. I had a blast. The food was great and the comedy was AMAZING!! Plus the price was right!!! Great job!!! The comedians were so funny and the Host of the show was to die for. They are talking about having other Comedy Armada's at Federico's every month or so. It is definitely a must see.

Absolutely wonderful throwback to the good old days when a good meal finished up with dancing and good times. Rick the owner will dazzle you with fantastic music and you can't help but have an enjoyable evening. From the second you walk through the amazing front doors till you finally tear yourself off the dance floor and go home you will be enchanted.

I attended Federico’s recently for a birthday party with a group of 20. The room was packed with people of all ages – some in suits and others in jeans. The servers were professional and efficient and the food was fantastic. We had to pre-order our selections a week in advance, which was a bit of an inconvenience, but it made for very prompt service. I was somewhat sceptical about the entertainment, but Federico had everyone on the dance floor and it remained that way until closing. I would absolutely recommend this place for special occasions and group outings.

12th Wedding anniversary at Federico's
By mcruz of Vancouver (1 Review)

The old fashioned neon marquee was immediately visible near 1st Ave on Commercial Drive. Lots of street parking on this Thurs March 1/07 at 6:30 pm.

Our booth over-looked the whole floor & stage. The ambiance felt that of the 60's -70's era nightclub days. Yes, Frank, Sammy, Dino, etc. could show their faces at any time, it seems.
The 60’s furniture makes you imagine gangsters & Stars having sat, drank or ate on them.

Our 25-ish waiter is Italian and a perfect set of white teeth accompanied his cheerful smile. And the service given us matched-up as well.

The food ---excellent. The sauces in each dish were delicious. We had mussels in red sauce and clams in white (both fresh). The double rack of lamb was so tender. I substituted spaghetti in a linguini dish. And when I mentioned the spaghetti was 12% undercooked, it was taken and returned with a steaming plate of my spaghetti with more sauce and additional cooking.

Yes, Federico and any of his hired acts would usher you into days...gone by. The upbeat ballads, classical opera, and time-tested slow themes...would feel comfortable in whatever age group.

And this night at Federico's came with comic-relief. Our 12th Wedding Anniversary celebration was coincidentally scheduled with the 3rd annual dinner for a group of volunteers for/of battered women. My wife is Chinese and I translated that to her (I was pondering to tell or not to tell her all evening long)...and as sweet as she really is inside ---I watched her face glow into a bright smile and continued on to an uncontrolled HaHaHa! She understands the group's helpful work---and did not see the dark side of the coin to any of it. I joked..." that explained why I felt that all the girls looked at me as if I would be boiled like a lobster and eaten up ---shells and all!"

Simply, the best evening of our lives!!! Try Federico's and go with the flow when you get there...people, ok?
