Billing itself as "The Last Great Hamburger Stand", Fatburger is a 50s style burger joint, preparing made-to-order burgers, fries & milkshakes
I agree with most of the reviews on Fatburger. The hype's all there but not the food. I had my first and last Fatburger awhile ago and it was not worth the price for what you got. Vera's a better place for burgers...and locally owned too!!!! For that price I paid at FB...I would have had 2 combo meals at Wendy's instead (even Wendy's burgers are better).
The thing about this place is that it is forced out of a cookie cutter image of what a burger place should be and than distorted by visions of profit and business motifs. The people who work there are lest than enthusiastic, most of the time, and they are probably all minimum wage, lost in their lives. They should hire more students, who have to flip burgers to make a living, for now..
but. on the actual food. Its horrible, and over priced. The actual burger had no taste, and the fries were alright, but fries are not hard to do well.
Dont go here, boycott it.
Went there expecting a really good burger. The slogan 'the last great burger stand' makes a pretty bold promise that just didnt measure up. Prices were steep but not unreasonable, and I liked how they brought the food to you instead of vera's style where you have to listen for your name in a noisy restaurant. I got onion rings and the portion was pathetic. My companion got fries and was given a much larger portion... consistency of side sizes was way off.
Burger itself was just ok. tasted fresh but the beef was lacking something. Service was good and the cashier was very helpful, but I won't be running back
I've heard a lot about Fatburger and came to try it with my friend. The decor was very cute.
I ordered the original Fatburger and onion rings. The burger tasted like any other burger. Nothing special about it. Onion rings were quite small and greasy.
The cashier looked miserable and didn't even greet with a smile. She had a scowl on her face the whole time and when she brought the order over to us she simply dropped it on the table, snatched our number, and stalked off without eye contact or a "Here you go." She went back to the kitchen to chat with her friends.
The burger and onion rings were nothing special. I could have had the same thing at another burger joint for half the price and twice the flavour.
The restaurant itself was very neat and cute. It had booths and was designed in a diner style.
It may have been the customer service that turned me off but including the average food, I definitely won't be coming back.
I am the type of guy who can eat quite a bit of food. These burgers are filling, lots of toppings. I was satisfied.
Maybe not the best burger I've had but defintely a solid one. I will be back and tell friends to stop by when they are on their way to Stanley Park. The ambience is similiar to a diner and fits the theme. Service is counter not sit down. Why not grab to go and go to the park instead.
I go to Fatburger on a regular basis because it's simply a great burger! I know that Vera's is known for their burgers but I think that Fatburger is better and this is why. It's not all about what you get on your burger like at Vera's, it's about the burger itself. It's juicy & delicious! Don't let the name fool you, it's not a "fat" burger, it gets that name because of the ratio of fat that's in the ground beef that makes it juicy. I recommend the double fat burger with cheese. They also have amazing onion rings so make sure you try them too! The service is great there and it's very clean in there as well. It's my first choice for a burger in this city, that's for sure!
