The Factory is a bar on the Granville strip, formerly Wineo's. All food under 10 bucks.
The food at The Factory on Granville is cheap. All items are under $10 with most of them priced at around $5.95. Food is ok, adequate & mediocre. You pay for what you get for $5.95. Drinks (beers) cost around 5.83+ & highballs starts from around $6+. There's a tub (garbage can tall) full of roasted peanuts. You can go up there & grab as much as you want whenever you want. So if you are allergic to peanuts, you shouldn't step foot into the bar.
We went with a group of friends for a birthday bash and each of the tables was served by a different server. They wouldn't let us order anything unless we were seated at our designated tables & ordered from the assigned server. It was pretty ridiculous as the tablese were one next to another and we were just standing around chatting with friends in our area. So even though the food is cheap, we are unlikely to go back there to avoid anymore of the nonsense service. Afterall, Nobody in their right mind would pay for mediocre food and the bad attitude abuse from any server.
Stopped in for a work lunch on a weekday. The place was relatively quiet, but the server was attentive.
I ordered the santa fe chicken sandwish with salad, and I had a taste of shared appys (lettuce wraps, and bbq chicken wings).
The food was reasonably good, as pub fare goes, and the price is certainly right.
Given that the restaurant was quiet, the wait for the food seemed rather long.
As for ambiance, it's a pub. It looks like any pub you'd see anywhere.
This place is new, it is along the Granville strip and is owned by the same people that run the "famous" Warehouse. All the food is under 10 bucks. They have a 16 ounce steak for 9.95 or something. I had a 10 ounce Kobe Burger with a ton of fries for 8.95. It was pretty dank, way cheaper and just as good as anything else in the are. All in all I was surprised, good food, pretty cheap all things considered, nice bar, service was good. Check it out.
I went there for lunch today with a few friends, the place is pretty cool when you walk in, The first thing we noticed, was the peanut shells on the ground and the big wood barrel that held uneaten shells. When at this restaurant it is customary to eat the peanuts and throw the shells on the ground, I thought it was pretty cool as i haven't seen that before at a pub. The food was pretty awesome i ordered the perogies($5.95), which i at first i thought were pretty good, but when I received my Stuffed Portabello Mushroom side, it seemed dwarfed in comparison. The mushroom was spectacular and extremely good value at $3.50. In the end, we got the bill paid out the waiter, and i actually left my wallet at the pub. I called them when i got home in burnaby, and they had found it, gotta love honest bartenders :)
thanks a lot.
