The menu at Establishment Lounge features Mediterranean inspired flavours with a local flare. Offering authentic share plates such as fresh seafood ceviche & Basque sausage from Spain, homemade pastas, thin-crust pizza & cheese platters from Italy and much more. Establishment is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm to late.
So we decide to go out to eat...but we didnt do the DOV...instead...found the 1000 point Open Table option of the Establishment. Apparently this place used to be the new bohemian...or bohemian before that (we've been to neither).
The place wasnt too busy when we got there, but we were early (6:30pm reso). The place started to fill up around 7:30ish. The waitress....Ashley...was very chatty and attentive. She suggested a couple drink specials, which we went with. The muddled cherry/bourbon and the muddled mandarin/gin. Both were with fresh fruit and were awesome. I could have just drank those the whole night and been completely content...and drunk. There was a beer special for like $2.99 as well.
We had a couple appies...tomato bococini salad and bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were a bit smaller...but so so good. Bacon was crispy and scallops weren't over done. They came with this tomato salsa of some sort that was great. The tomato bococini salad was also very good...typical ofnwhabyounwould expect.
As for the mains...we shared a BBQ chicken pizza and a mushroom pasta. Pizza was delicious. They didn't go crazy with the BBQ sauce...great thin crust and crunchy all the way through. The pasta was excellent. Fresh made pasta and a good flavor. All the dishes were really well plated and we were thoroughly stuffed.
To finish the meal they brought us a complimentary dessert....I don't know the name but it was soo good. Layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mouse, ganache and caramel. So decadent but not so overly sweet that you can only have one bite...trust me...you can't have just one bite. Actually...there's some left over the fridge and I'm going to have some once I post this,
I would be back in no time. The atmosphere was great. Nice dim lighting but not super dark. Is not a huge spot...so feels cozy. Clayton is the owner...came by to make sure all was good and seemed surprised that we would make the trip from downtown...but the burrard bridge wont stop us...well definitely be back.
