Love the redone interior - you would never recognize that it used to be the American. However, the food & the service sucked big time. Not impressed at all. We asked what appetizers were 2 for 1 & our waiter said that we needed a coupon. We advised that their website stipulates 2 for 1 for appies between 5-7pm. He tried to argue the point, went off to talk with someone, came back to our table & said "fine" but then was unable to clearly articulate which items on the menu were considered appetizers. I was quite happy I didn't eat as I heard a number of folks say the food wasn't very good.
Super disappointing as this is a new addition to my 'hood & I was excited to check it out.
Will I go back? Maybe, but it would only be for a beer, and I wouldn't expect friendly service.
Went here to watch the "Stray Cats" Cabaret, which was awesome. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and laid back and the service was decent. Food was very tasty and decently priced. I definitely suggest the pork cheeks as well as the smoked eel. I would definitely recomend this place.
Went and tried some of the new menu items. They really stepped up their game. Heard through the industry that Lucas Syme helped out on some of the new creations.
Love the vibe here of the live music also, can't wait to get back. Need more places like this in Vancouver where you can eat, party and WHAT? they are opening a Ping Pong Club in the basement.
