Very rustic Mexican
Small, dodgy hours but very good food. We didn’t get the cerveza, probably because we are not in the “in” crowd. The service was reserved but not unkind, probably because the kid was along. The tacos were very good. The tortillas light and fluffy, melt in your mouth. The 10 moment came when we tried the CHili rellenos: grilled pepper, lightly battered, delicate filling – just wonderful.
Ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. The TV was blasting the movie 300 while we were eating.
We were actually looking for another mexican restaurant in the area when we stumbled into this one. I didnt think I would find three mexican restaurants in the same block in Vancouver, but it does exist. Although the decor is minimal, the food wasnt. We were treated to a sampling of tacos where the fillings were all unique in flavor, and left me feeling everything was prepared fresh. The tortillas were warm and tasty. I will be returning for more.
