El Camino's is a casual, lively place featuring Latin American street food and cocktails.
Stopped by here on a Lazy Sunday afternoon. There was only a Limited Lunch Menus, but, we were hungry so we ordered lots. The Tacos were awesome! Authentic like back in Mexico. Which was a real treat. I tried them all, but, the Beef and Chicken Taco's stood out above the rest. They were all good though. They had the beer selection from Mexico too, which was good. The Chicken Wings were awesome! They were Spicey and a bit sweet. The Ambiance I didn't really care for. The Restaurant was comfortable enough and the Seating was fine, but, I thought it was a bit dark. I didn't mind the Spanish music playing, but, interlaced with Cypress Hill was a bit odd. Service was great too. I was seated right away, our Server stopped by after our first bites to see how everything was. And, when we ordered more food, she still came back to make sure everything was alright. My Buddy ordered a Margerita, and, it was good and stiff. The Washroom was clean too, no issues there.
I thought the Value was good. Though it wasn't cheap, it wasn't expensive either. And, I thought it was very good for what you paid for.
I have to say I'm looking forward to coming back to this place. I thought it was great, and, would recommend this place to my friends.
Wife is away so I have had a chance to check out the restaurants on Main St. El Camino's was not my first choice but the other restaurant was closed for a staff function. I remembered that my daughter told me,she and her friends had a very good meal there. Dining alone I love to eat at the bar, watch what's going on , talking to the bartender between orders etc. Had the house Caesar salad, excellent loved the flavours, crispy garbanzo beans for croutons and topped with shrimp. Best rendition of a Caesar I've had in a long time. Shortribs with Colombian roasted potatoes. Melt in your both Beef, great potatoes and a very rich sauce. another hit. Service was quick and friendly. I would recommend and would definitely return. A bit noisy but it was packed on a Tuesday night.
Found this hidden gem by mistake one Sunday afternoon when walking with a friend around the neighborhood. We walked in and looked at the menu and noticed they were serving Arepas (a very typical Colombian and Venezuelan dish) at first I hesitated on trying any of them as they were $7,50 and to be honest I can easily make them at home for just a fraction of the cost. But the waitress (who I must say was impressively attentive) found out I am Venezuelan and offered me to try one of the Arepas for free, as she really wanted my opinion on how authentic they are. Well I order the Shrimp Arepa and oh boy was I impressed!!! simply delicious!!! they took a very traditional dish and knock it up a notch!!! very TASTY and innovative like the rest of the dishes we tried. this place is a must go if you are in the mood for innovative Latin American food.
This weekend we decided to check out el Camino. Every single one of us (there were 6 of us) would go back and will go back. "Meg's" (short for Meghan, but she said "call me Meg's), was THE BEST SERVER!! She went out of her way to make sure we were happy, well fed and always had a delicious margarita in front of us. She even bought our whole table a round of delicious shooters. She made our night. The bartender was also very nice and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Thanks El Camino for a stellar night, we will most definitely be back!
i have been here four times and the only thing that keeps me returning is the top notch food. on each of my four visits the service has been bad enough as to warrant my walking out. i am overly polite though and never do. also the food is good enough that i can over look the service. the first time i went i was sat and then essentially forgotten about or at the very least ignored. the servers sense of priority was clearly misplaced as i waited 15 minutes before having my drink order taken.. this is completely unacceptable in a place with less than 20 tables and more than 3 servers.. on another occasion we were put on a wait list and then watched as partons that came in after us were seated at the bar while they waited for a table whilst we marinated on our feet at the door. no one ever offered us a bar seat. would have been nice as we were all parched. the servers never write down orders and will forget items or be forced to come back and have us repeat our order. this happens everytime. usually once the service gets going its decent but the hicups that always start the experience are hard to shake off. this sentiment of bad service is common among some of my other taco loving friends. sooooo.... the food is quality. service needs an upgrade.
