Double DD Pizza is a family owned and operated restaurant in Kitsilano specializing in house made pizza's and greek dishes. Open for lunch & dinner 7 days a week with fast, free delivery from 4pm to 10pm.
We live super close to this place so it's a great quick meal. They have a decent size menu of greek dishes and pizza's. They have awesome cheap daily specials for example lamb chops rice and salad for $6.95 or Baked pasta and bread for $5.95
The food is quite good, can be a little greasy but nothing over the top.
The place is pretty small maybe 25 seats total, in the summer time they pull out 2 sets of tables so you can sit on the side walk and people watch.. this side of 4th isnt as busy but it's nice to sit out and have a beer.
Their prices are incredibly reasonable they have a few beers on tap and by the bottle, a few wines, basic cocktails... btw no caesers tho(drink).
This place is frequented by a lot of neighbors and people that live in the area; it's family owned; the owners seem to be brothers, younger guys.
In regards to service its' quite poor but not awful, the girl that works there is really sweet but I think she may be new to working in a restaurant. She tends to forget if she hasn't written it down. You usually have to flag her down or remind her. She's super nice and can tell that she's trying and for a tiny restaurant like that you can't expect the best. The food makes up for it. We've eaten here several times, we usually order take out, but they also do delivery. Family run, good food, pleasant but slow service and incredibly casual. It's a great find and we're happy to support their small business.
This place is casual and unpretentious. It has good food and you get big portions. I’ve had excellent service and everything costs a lot less than other local Greek places. They also have a good house red wine at a very reasonable price. I find the pita too thin and crisp for my liking, but that is a small thing.
While the restaurant is basic in décor, I’ve really enjoyed hanging out here on a warm evening having a leisurely meal and drinks when the doors are opened up to the street. It is nice to watch the world go by and not feel rushed. I’ve actually never been here during the rainy season. I imagine it isn’t quite as nice when they have to keep the doors shut, but that isn’t their fault.
Double DD's has been one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver for years. Family owned, its the kind of place where you go regularly and everyone knows your name. The food is consistently great - and for very reasonable prices. A pasta dish with meat sauce is just over 7 dollars and it comes with salad and garlic bread. You can upgrade to the greek salad for an extra $2.50 - i always do, definitely worth it. The drink prices are also very reasonable. My friend and I went earlier this year and had a pasta special (of course with the yummy greek salad), one of their great pizzas and a bottle of wine for less than $50. You do not get that anywhere! While we can usually find an available table, last Thursday was one of the first times I had been there and it has been absolutely packed! I think the secret of this family gem is finally spreading beyond us Kitsilano folks.
