I don't understand the chairs. Not comfortable at all.

Food: We ordered 2 different kinds of crepes, one sweet and one savory. They were both quite good. The crepes were thin and has a nice texture to it. We also had the matcha parfait; it was decent. It was nice but nothing special or anything.

Service: They were attentive and friendly. Nothing much more to say about that; it was good.

Value: Pretty overpriced for the food we got. The crepes were standard in size and the filling inside was simple. For $4.50, I expected a couple more strawberries than what I got though. The parfait is actually pretty small for $7. I don't think it was worth it. I could have made it myself for $2.

Ambiance: I don't understand the chairs; they don't have any backings to it. The chairs were high and you pretty much have to bounce onto them. They looked pretty light and flimsy so it was a challenge to get on it. The sitting experience was not comfortable at all because there were no backings to the chairs; nothing to lean on... I think they are going for simplicity as their theme but I felt it was just not a very interesting place to be. It was not romantic at all. It was white and bright and NOT cozy. The washroom is pretty nicely designed but it's blood-red so it was sort of frightening.

After reading some good reviews here, I decided to give this place a try. Boy, do I regret not coming here any sooner!
They serve parfait, crepe and bbt. Mmm perfect for me cuz I love all of them!
Their shop is small and easily missed. The best way to describe the location is that it's right across from the Liquor Store. They are in the same building as Starbucks & Anna's Cake House.
I've went here twice already in a month. We've tried their Tiramisu, Strawberry Cheesecake, Matcha parfait and they're equally addictive. I love their banana crepe ($4) which is drizzled w/ nutella. If you want ice cream on the side it's additional $1. Their bbt are ok.
I love it how they're open late till midnight even on a Sunday. They also accept Interac.

100% recommended.

Yummy Parfait

I decided to give this place a try after reading the positive reviews on here. This is a small shop squeezed between a bunch of other shops and it wasn't easy to find. The shop is quite small and dim but it was quite romantic so it would be perfect for a date. The server was very nice and patient as I was undecided on what to order. We ordered the sesame vanilla parfait and a honey milk tea to go. The milk tea is alright, nothing special but I absolutely loved the parfait. It consisted of vanilla ice-cream, sponge cake, mochi, black sesame, corn flakes and some whipped cream. My bf and I fought for every bite. I immediately wanted to go back for another one after I finished. As tasty as it was, the parfait was quite small and quite pricey at around $7. However, I would return just to try the other parfaits.

Contemporary by day, romantic by night

Came in to dot after a few friends raved about the desserts. It was small but cozy. The chairs were a little uncomfortable but we came for their parfaits and not furniture.

We ordered a Matcha, Blacksesame and Mandarin Peach parfait to share. When we saw the parfaits we were blown away and took out our cameras to start taking pictures! Each was very nicely decorated, you could see each layer and it was all very colourful and inviting. Best part is? It tasted as good as it looked. Another friend also ordered a cinnamon crepe and was recommended to add a scoop of vanilla icecream to it and the result was delicious. The crepe was chewy, not crunchy, and the vanilla icecream added a nice texture and mixed perfectly with the cinnamon - also toning down the sugar.

I would definitely come back with more friends in the day for a quick get together or lunch since I noticed they also served sandwiches and they look delicious. Like a japadog, but with chicken or beef teriyaki - if not, i would come in just to use their wifi, since their drinks are fairly cheap also. At night though, dot transfroms from contemporary to romantic with the help a few candle lights.

I have been to Dot desserts for a couple of times and it has never failed to impress.

BUBBLE TEAS are very good and very well priced ($3.50). get it anywhere else say in richmond and it'll cost $4ish and probably doesn't taste as good

CREPES are made to tenderly and chewy perfection. I would prefer more ingredients inside the crepes, but considering the price $4-4.5 each, it is very very good.

the PARFAITS and deserts are spectacular. they use better ice cream for the parfaits similar to marios so they aren't cheap supermarket brands. the sponge cakes are very good tasting like something you'd get from a good bakery.

my recommendation is to try the tiramisu, i'd say best in the city, once you've tried it, you won't want to order anything else

the only complaint i have is that the store is a bit too small and the tables and chairs looked a little bit flimsy

overall a very good dessert place, highly recommend,

A place for a perfect date

Last friday my date and I decided to try out DOT desserts.

We were impressed with the atmosphere of this boutique dessert house, it was neat and tidy with it's white theme, and it allow us the customers to really have a romantic night with no distractions like most of the more crowed dessert places in town. The seating is very limited help on keeping the tiny dessert place more intimate.

I've ordered a sesame parfait and my date ordered a strawberry parfait which were outstanding ! The flavour, texture, and design was all there !

Definitely a place that i'm going back to. Next time I will like to try out their sandwiches!

GREAT dessert. I usually take my girlfriend here at night, and she seems to LOVE it. So, if you're looking for a romantic setting, this is definitely the place to go! It's a bit pricey, but the your girl will probably be impressed by your choice of place. The ladies also love man that buy their girls the best, right?

Fresh store, fresh choices

I walked into DOT. desserts after work one day, and I have never stopped going ever since
The place is nice and small, but very clean and not cluttered at all. The environment is very simple, with some nice background music accompanied by very friendly and cheerful hospitality and greetings.
After I've made my order, it was a very short wait and my treats are served before me.
Now the most important part: the food. The parfait is very colorful and full of treats. The looks earned all my points, but the taste didn't disappoint at all. The parfait really speaks itself and what Dot.desserts really takes pride in - parfaits. It's got some assorted sides along with colorful and very soft ice cream. The food not only earned my tongue and stomach, but also the price. You really get your share for what you've paid, though I think the satisfaction and experience had really blew me away. The Fruit Tea that came with it is my first, and my favorite drink from DOT.dessert. When I asked what syrup they've used since I formerly worked at another bubbletea location, they told me they used real fruits in it. Another thumbs up for healthy and delicious choice.

Varieties: Since they're new store, they're still working on it. But they do offer a decent amount of choices for their farfaits and beverages. DOT.desserts have some crepe too, so for a new store, they are doing good. Im hopeful they will expand their menu to include numerous items, but in the meantime, I will stick to my Mango parfait and Fruit Tea.

Overall: Fresh store with many fresh choices. I can find gelato stores in Vancouver, but parfait is definitely new, and for what they have to offer, I have brought some friends there too, and they're loving it. The environment is clean and simple, while service is excellent. The food is creative and very good experience.

A great choice for this summer. Give yourself a treat.

Recently my friend brought me to this dessert place and I fell in love with it. It was my first time trying parfaits too. I really liked how the place was designed and makes me feel really comfortable. The servers there were really friendly and nice. I really liked the Matcha parfait and the Mango and Peach parfait. The price is decent for the drinks and the parfaits. Now I have a place where I can bring my friends there to chat and eat desserts.

Great place to hang out when Starbucks is full
By yumm of Vancouver (5 Reviews)
Submitted Tuesday, December 1, 2009 - 3:48pm [Dine in]

So I am sitting here thinking to myself why is there no one here? I guess its a little hard to find, I myself pass by it many times when I go to Starbucks. But what made me come in here was because Starbucks was full and I needed to use the internet.

I ordered the Spinach & Mushroom Crepe - which was actually really good, better than what I expected - its actually comparable to cafe crepe. The crepes are valued at 4.50 each its great for a light lunch or quick snack!

They have a small open bar for bubble tea and the first thing I asked them if they made mango bubble tea out of powder and I was surprised to find that it was made with puree and actual mango sauce - their bubble tea in my opinion is too cheap (3.50) compared to places in downtown which still makes their mango milk bubble tea out of powder and they charge $5.00!!!

I liked this small place because its fairly quiet during the afternoons, a few students and local businesses come by for take out.

I will definately come back for their PARFAITS which is what they specialize in!

Great Place for a Light Lunch
By Ziggyzag of Vancouver (2 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, November 29, 2009 - 3:22pm [Dine in]

While it may be difficult to find, DOT Desserts is worth the effort. This little dessert house is literally sandwiched into a strip mall of restaurants and businesses directly across the street from the B.C. Liquor Store on 41st and Cambie. It's recessed, narrow store front makes it easy to miss for those driving or even walking by!

Over the past few months, DOT desserts has become my regular lunch stop on Monday afternoons. While DOT is known for their Japanese Parfaits, they also make excellent crepe's and subs for customers looking for a quick and affordable bite to eat. Their lunch menu is limited, but my favorite items are the spinach and pepperoni crepes. At $4.50 a crepe, it's a great choice for a quick snack or a light lunch. While it would be nice to see a larger lunch menu, DOT's Raison D'Etre is it's desserts, especially at night!

At night, the ambiance of DOT is unsurpassed. Table candles and Incandescent lights softly glow on walls filled with works of art by local Vancouver artists. Great background music resonates through the small space making it the perfect spot for dessert after dinner. My favorite parfait is the Matcha Parfait. The presentation and taste make this a particularly appealing dessert choice.

I recommend this place

I came here about a week and a half ago, and I was surprised at the fact that I enjoyed the parfait. I read about this place through the reviews and such so I decided to try it out. I recommend the mango parfait or the berry one. But the berry one is on the sour side just a bit, so if you prefer sweet try the mango parfait. The price for the parfait is okay. You get what you pay for, but i'd rather it be a tad cheaper. 6 bucks or so? I recommend this place, you won't regret coming here.

I took a bunch of friends to this place yesterday for the first time after reading someone's blog about it. I've always wanted to eat Japanese parfait desserts that you see in anime and drool over. This place serves not only those parfaits but also some bubble tea and crepes.

The place is kinda small and have these swivel tall tools so it's not a place you can park for hours but the desserts were yummy and we went back pretty happy.

another overhyped, overrated gimmick

When I walked into Dot. Desserts with a couple of buddies of mine the other day, one word popped into my head: AMATURE
The decor was bland and the service was there because they needed to make money. The two girls working there looked exactly how I felt when my parfait arrived at the table, bored and unimpressed. The parfait, if you can call it that, had some mushy sponge like imitation cake and accompanied with a few scoops of hard freezer burned icecream, topped off with whipped cream. Save your money!! Going to a Dairy Queen is cheaper and you'll get the same service and quality.

So with much long anticipation of trying out DOT. Desserts, myself and a few friends were able to check it out Saturday evening.

The ambiance was very modern, clean and simple. I wished the tables and chairs were a lil bit more comfortable tho -- my friends and I thought the high chairs and bar tables were a flimsy.

Although it was a Saturday evening, it was pretty quiet inside and not busy considering it was 9pm. The plus side was that our desserts arrived prompty after our order was taken.

The dessert crepes were pretty good, in fact, my friend said that it's one of the best crepe she's had in a long time. =) The parfaits were nicely presented...very colorful and it looked yummy. However the taste overall was meh - it was good, not great....nothing really spectacular. Depending which flavour you ordered, your parfait would have corn flakes, sponge cake, jello, red bean, berries, ice cream etc. The icecream flavour were pretty regular. Like any other icecream you'd find from Internationals or Mario's Gelato.

Considering the concept is Japanese parfait, I wish that the ingredients were more authentic. I mean it's pretty typical to find hard icecream, sponge cake and corn flakes inside a parfait....how is that Japanese?
