This restaurant was voted best hotel restaurant in Vancouver. Great atmosphere, incredible menu and wine list.
Had to kill an hour as I was having meeting at the Four Seasons.
Diva is a pretty modern contemporary style restaurant with an open kitchen. It had been years since I've been here and last I remembered. The food was exceptional.
I had there burger which was a bit greasy but VERY TASTY. I've never spent 19$ on a burger and I can't say that it was worth $19 (I can think of other burgers costing less that are just as satisfying) but again, I'm havig a gourmet burger in a high class establishment so it's warranted. I enjoyed the ambiance and the food was very good overall.
Service was great and non intrusive.
Not a place I can come back often to unless it was a date or a special event but I will come back!
After reading several reviews on the site raving about the quality of food, ambiance, and general quality of this place I booked a dinner for 2 (dine-out Vancouver) on Saturday night @ 8:15pm.
Me and my beautiful lady friend stepped in, had our coats taken, and were cordially welcomed to the restaurant by the greeter. So far so good... for about 1 minute. We were then escorted to the farthest table in the back, right beside a wall, and literally less than a foot away from another couple who seemed quite annoyed as we tried to shuffle into the small space. Normally this wouldn't bug me, but when half of the restaurant is vacant I get somewhat miffed.
Here's were it gets ultra horribad.... the food.
Regardless of how well it's cooked, or how find the ingredients are, I cannot understand how a restaurant can justify a $38 price tag for a cup of soup, two .5" thick 1" diamter ahi tuna cuts, and a lady finger drizzled in nestle quik.
I also didn't appreciate the ninja addition of sparkling water to our bill, when we were expecting regular water.
Highly recommended for those who want to eat in a place just so they can say they spent $150 on a meal. Two thumbs up to you!
Came here for my mom's birthday and it was a great fine dining experience.
Food: The parents had the tasting menu which they enjoyed. I tried some of their sweet corn veloute and it was velvety (sp?) and smooth. i had the bay scallops which were cooked to perfection and the duo of duck which was also very good. My brother had the rib-eye which was large and looked good as well.
Service: Our waitress was very attentive and kind. She and I guess the manager would describe the dishes they brought out which was a very nice touch. Waitress also tried to make sure everyone had food at the same time which was appreciated since there was mixing of tasting and a la carte menus.
Value: It's fine dining so it will be on the expensive side but I believe it was all well worth the money.
Ambiance: Nothing to rave or rant about. Even with a packed house it wasnt that noisy.
Overall a pleasant experience. The only thing to note was that dinner was close to 3 hours. Food came kinda slow although that might have been due to mixing of the tasting and a la carte menus.
We celebrated a birthday at the Diva on July 09/07. We were very impressed with the restaurant and staff. The service was perfect and not too intrusive. The menu had a variety of choices for any taste and explained each dish in detail.
When the server placed the food on our table, we knew immediately that there is a reason this restaurant has been rated so high. The presentation was worth a picture and the taste was awesome. We had the lamb and free range chicken and both dishes were prepared to prefection. This was one of the best dinners we have had. Will definitely go back and recommend.
I brought my wife here for our anniversary, and it was special indeed! The room is beautiful and romantic, I had called ahead and they had put roses on the table for us! The server was very gracious and knowledgable of the menu and winelist. We decided to have the Tasting menu, it was 6 course for $65 and the wine pairings we an extra$40, well worth it! We tried food we probably wouldn't have ordered ourselves and had an amzing experience! I never realized how much the right wine with a dish can make a difference. I definately recommend this place! When I looked at the regular menu, I was actually surprised by the prices, they were not as high as I expected. I will be back soon.
Went there with my bf, the place was pretty empty on a weekday. Which was better I guess because we felt like we booked the whole restaurant.
There service was superb!! The server was very attentive and she started out by recommending a couple dishes, something that’s her favourites, and giving us time to think it through.
overall, I was very impressed by the food quality. You guys need to try there lobster! This places needs more people to find out about them.
Still a little "hotel" in it's ambiance, but the food was absolutely top-notch and the service was gracious and efficient.
The coffee quality leaves room for improvement.
I will return for Brunch here.
