I have been to most of the Pannekoek Houses and the pannekoek is very consistent everywhere. My two favourites are the Apple or the Canadian. They serve fresh squeezed orange juice - got to like that. Cheap and cheerful breakfast and don't expect too much ambiance. It's clean and comfortable for an hour.
I go to Slickity Jims for Breakfast, but my Boyfriend thinks it's too expensive & RAVES about this place saying how cheap it is.
WELL, I was hungry & ordered The Simple Breakfast; 2 Eggs; Bacon, Ham, Sausage, Hash Browns & Toast.
I got 2 Paper Thin slices of each meat that you could almost see through, & 2 Toonie Sized "Sausage Circles" the Hash Browns were out of a McCain Bag previously frozen & they cut a piece of White Rye bread in half for me; THIS COST $12.95.
He got some sort of Pannekoek.
During this meal I commented that maybe I should have ordered The Bratwurst as the meat was not cutting it for me, so he ordered it for me halfway through our meal (we eventually received 2 Tiny Sausages cut down the middle).
At then end our bill came to $34.75.
Bratwurst $6.00
2 Coffees $5.00
The rest $23.75 NOT PRICELESS.
