Darchin serves a selection of famous traditional Persian dishes
Tried both the kebob Bakhtiyari, (one skewer of mixed steak & boneless chicken breast & one skewer of kubideh) and the lamb shank for lunch one weekend afternoon. Great flavours, good portions and value wasn't super pricey. Service was very friendly. Good Persian food. We enjoyed it very much. Only downside is the location and it's slightly hard to find parking, otherwise we'd give it another try. Such great potential. Hopefully the groupon deal gave them a bit more exposure. =)
Went to this restaurant with my friend. We did not know that they had dine out menu that evening so we tried this. Parking is hard to find but we were very lucky. Food was not bad. We had the salad and hommus for appy. Tried the lamb shank and chicken for entree. The lamb was good but fatty. The saffron ice was very good but the balacava was so so. The place was busy and we did not have to wait for a table. It was late when we got there. I did not get a chance to look at their regular menu but would go back. They also had many Veg options.
I went to this place, thanks to a GroupOn, and I'm glad I did. If you want something different than the usual Japanese or "West Coast" cuisine, give it a shot.
Food: Between my wife and I, we got to try most of the kebabs. The lamb was a bit fatty, but the other meats were tasty and cooked just right. The rice was also some of the lightest, fluffiest, rice I've ever had. The appys were also quite good and the quality is above-average.
Service: Attentive, quick, friendly.
Value: The kebabs are a little pricey, and it's not a cheap place to go, but it's fine.
Ambiance: I'm guessing this place used to be a bar, because it had very high ceilings and that old bar/pub feel. It was a lot busier than expected, but clean, bright, and upbeat. My only complaint is that it was a bit cold in there, and we were far from the door.
Overall: A good place to go for something different. I'd like to try it again sometime.
