Shouldn't "Dairy Queen" use real whipped cream???

Took the fam damily for an ice cream treat.

The value menu is good, lots of choices, $2 each for things like hot dogs, small sundaes, small dipped cone, etc.

Hubby had a blizzard, each kid had a small dipped cone, and I had a medium sundae with extra whipped cream.

Service was friendly, but I wish these teenage girls working in the food industry woudln't wear nail polish, especially the green lacquer this server was wearing. I *get it*, it's St. Patrick's Day, but it is not professional looking and unsanitary to wear when working with food.

The 'ice milk' cones were fine - cheap, hardened chocolate over kinda refreshing ice milk. Hubby was okay with his Blizzard (his favourite treat). However ..... the girl squeezed the whipped cream out of what appeared to be a pre-made icing bag. The "whipped cream' was so obviously an edible oil product. It was lukewarm, dense texture and quite gross. Come on - it's DAIRY QUEEN - at least use an actual dairy product!!! They USED to use the canned whipped cream. I have no idea when or why they changed products. All I can say is that I was unimpressed.

The ambiance was okay. They renovated fairly recently, however I think that the tables could have been a little cleaner, but it was otherwise adequate.

Go for the standards - a dipped cone. It will be the way you remember it. I just wouldn't bother with the rest - and I certainly wouldn't bother with the whipped cream (which, well ..... WASN'T CREAM!)

Consistently made blizzards!

Of the dozen or so DQ's I've been to, this location has quite possibly the most consistently made blizzards I've had. They are mixed thoroughly, without skimping on toppings - I usually get the cheesequake. Still great value - I find it difficult to finish a small in one sitting. The dilly and buster bars are fairly uniform looking without the grotesque tumours, misplaced blobs and crooked popsicle sticks I usually tend to find at the other locations. The hot food menu items are OK; every fast food chain tends to have a certain "flavour", this one the same.

It's been more or less the same young staff working there for the past while and they're pretty efficient. Can't complain, though there tends to be a dirty table or two almost every time I've been there.

It's regularly busy, in particular during the summer months and most do come for the cool treats, as do I, so come for the blizzards!
