Our usual weekend dinner gang was craving ice cream and when we saw this nicely renovated DQ Grill & Chill, we decided to give it a try. The place was much nicer than the usual DQ and was very clean. Service was better than expected, and as for value it was the same as other DQ locations. We had sundaes, cones, etc, and all were just fine. What really impressed was the ambiance. Nice!
I've been to this location the most over the years due to its proximity to home. It has largely been the same, even the current staff seems to have worked here for a good while.
While you can't really argue with their prices and the service has been reliably good, I've had some misses with their menu. The strawberry waffle bowl I had once was rather unappetizing, overly sweet with the fruit topping, and watching firsthand the staff person ring out the last of the faux whipped cream out of a plastic bag, which ended up looking like leftover shaving cream at the bottom of the sink in my waffle bowl. Blizzards are inconsistently mixed here, usually to the point were the bottom half of the cup is just plain soft serve. They are stingy on the toppings here too. The hot foods here are OK though I would prefer several other fast food options elsewhere first.
They've been closed for renovations but should be back up and running as a Grill 'n Chill soon. Let's hope the new extension on life is passed onto their cool treats.
