I frequent this cafe a few times a week. I usually spend 4-5 hours in the back room studying and while I'm there I usually have a coffee, tea, snack, and some sort of treat. I often end up spending $15-$20. However, I had a very unpleasant experience this morning, April 17th, and will not be returning.
When I entered I saw that there was a meeting in the back room, so I decided to wait in the front until it was over (I was told it would be about 20 mins). I sat down and took out my notebook and after about 10 minutes, the woman barista came over and asked me if I was going to order coffee. I said "yes I am, I'm just waiting until I move to the back room." She asked again, "Are you sure you're going to order coffee?" I said, "yes, when I move to the back room." She then told me that she needed my table because she needs customers.
I asked her if she wanted me to leave and she said "yes, if you're not going to order coffee." I had just told her twice that I was going to order coffee. She was very rude and unapologetic, driving away a customer that she so badly "needs."
The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be visiting the Grind anymore.
