Columbus offers authentic, homestyle Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, from gourmet pizzas and baked pastas to steaks, ribs and wings.
A friend of mine has had a craving for ribs and saw this place advertised in a local Vancouver mail-out so we decided to give the place a try for lunch. She had called ahead and was told that yes, the All You Can Eat ribs is on during lunch as well as dinner. The first time we tried to visit this place, they were having problems with their electrical system, so had to go for lunch somewhere else. But today, we stopped in at noon and found that we were the only people there. We were served promptly by the single young female server and noticed one male in the kitchen, and we ordered the ribs special and a soda each. The meals came with a small green salad (which was just a regular green tossed salad), spaghettini with a tomato sauce, a large piece of garlic bread and baby back ribs. The ribs were absolutely great! The meat fell off the bone with just a touch of a knife and fork. and the sauce was a little bit spicy and really tasty. On the first plate, we each had two large sections of ribs and once we finished the first part of the meal, we had two more large sections of ribs each. All the ribs had a good amount of sauce on them, they were juicy with lots of meat on the ribs and above all were very tasty. I will definitely go back whether for the Tuesday special or any of the other specials they have.
My friend and i stopped by Columbus for a few beers since its across the street from my place. We were Greeted with in a few mins of standing there. It was a nice hot day out so we decided to sit outside. We ordered a few beers. It took 5 minutes for the server to come back with those. Already worried about the service and wait times my friend and i decide that we would order early. We ordered fish n chips an appy and i ordered the steak dinner and asked if we could get 2 sides of prawn skewers. we waited about 15-20 minutes for the appy and another beer. So about 15-20 minutes after that we finally received the "entrees" my medium rare steak was well done and i did not receive our prawn skewers. Then i see the chef come right out to where we were seated and starts talking to his friend and having a cigarette. I complained to the server that my steak was not medium rare and she said she would let the "chef" know..who was standing 5 feet in front of me and he approaches my table smoke in hand and drops the plate down and says "yeah what's wrong with your steak???" I said well besides waiting 30-45 min for dinner i get a well done steak. He says "well what do you want me to do about it? make you another one?" i says YES PLEASE cause thats not what i ordered and he mutters something under his breath puts out his smoke and proceeds inside. At that point my friend said Nav let's go this is bullsh*t. we walked inside and asked for our bill...the server says so i guess your not paying for the steak...and gets us the bill. we payed and tipped even and left. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN...poor service poor manners poorly made food.
This little restaurant is hidden in the corner right beside Killarney Market. Their pepperoni pizza I find is very delicious. The meat tastes delicious and they put quite a bit of cheese. The fettucine alfredo tastes a little bland and runny but have it with chicken and it's pretty good.
The inside has an oldies kind of feeling and they have a variety of items in their menu.
