Persian food. Kabobs, grilled lamb chops, lamb shank, eggplant stew, fish and rice plus much more.
I had never been to this restaurant because I thought it might be pricey. I was wrong, the prices are excellent and the food is as well. I had chicken kabobs, which came with rice (or salad) and a broiled tomato. I asked for bread, and I got pita with raw onion, which the server said was standard fare in Persian restaurants. Since I love onions, I wasn't unhappy. The chicken was excellent, a large portion and the rice was perfect. I can't fault them for a single thing. Nice looking place, good service and a great deal. What more could you ask?
I have now dined at this restaurant over a half dozen times in the past year and I must say every visit in terms of food has been a winner.
You just can't beat the value of this place. For $7.50 cents a ground beef kabob , pipping hot with a mound of rice and your choice of salads. Where else can you do this at a sit down restaurant in downtown Vancouver?
In my opinion the food offered at this restaurant is of high quality. Always seems fresh and very tasty although they could do away with the complimentary store bought pita with that hunk of onion wrapped in plastic. How many onions do they toss out every day, simply not necessary in my view.
They also offer a number of selections from lamb shank to an eggplant dish which are always delicious and again a super value for what you are getting.
The downside of this restaurant is the service. It can run between totally abysmal to good and everything inbetween. They seem to go through servers quite quickly, not sure if it's because on a $11.00 tab with a 15% tip they aren't exactly racking in the money, or other issues but some just don't seem to know how to serve.
Overall, if you are on a tight budget and looking for a meal that is going to actually fill you up this is the place.
