Cattle Cafe is a Hong King style cafe serving a large, varied menu of Chinese dishes.
Been at this location twice with a friend.
We both enjoy the Laksa with fish noodle. The fish noodle is made from a white fish paste, which is sqeezed out and boiled in the soup. It has great texture - like a noodle - but without the carbs.
The fish noodle costs an extra $4 on top of the $8.50 soup. So $12.50 all together. The combo comes with a hong kong style milk tea or coffee and a nice cold glass of water on request. I like beef tendon and rolled bean curd with my soup. It's tasty and oh so good on a cold day. My friend and I can usually split a soup. Sometimes we order one each and have a nice lunch for the next day as well.
The first time I was there - the male server was very helpful. The second time I was there, a female server left a lot to be desired. There was a small, dime sized amount of soup on the table left from the previous diners. She cleaned the spot. Literally - cleansed ONLY that dime sized spot on the table! LOL! I took my trusted Clorex wipes out of my purse and gave the table a thorough wipe down. Yeesh - clean the friggin table between customers - really! She also forgot to bring enough spoons and we had to remind her to bring some water (twice). Hence - I rated the service as two star.
The ambiance was fine - the restaurant was otherwise bright and clean. It is not fine dining - but I find fine dining overrated and overpriced.
This is a good meal on a budget.
I'll be back (with my clorex wipes if necessary ;)
Cattle Cafe, probably THE original create-your-own noodle soup restaurant, in our opinion. If not the original, then one of. It’s not bad here, but then again, you can never go wrong with a large cozy bowl of noodle soup, made to your liking. We prefer Deer Garden over Cattle Cafe though.
Noodle Soup Combo - $8.50 (5/7)
Nothing too special. The toppings are plentiful and the soup is delicious. Come here on a rainy day and this will taste like heaven. The above picture is of the Parsley and Century Eggs Fish Soup broth.
Spareribs in Black Bean Sauce with Rice (5/7) - $6.50
This was absolutely delicious! Ultimate comfort food. There was a good amount of spareribs to rice ratio, however, a few more helpings of the veggies would have been nice.
bubble tea place with decent food
Cattle Cafe definitely does not sell "Chinese cuisine". It's a bubble tea place with what I think pretty decent Taiwanese or hongkong style food. I've been there with my parents and some friends. Everybody liked the food and the restaurant is bright and spacious. For the price that they are charging, i really don't have any complaints.
and if you want a place to sit down and chat with your friends, it is a good choice. It's big enough so there's never a line up and their bubble teas are very solid. I go to here all the time for casual meals.
