I heard good things about this place so grabbed a box of 6 to try..
The Earl Grey
Coffee cheesecake stuffed
Everyone agreed that there were good flavor options but they didn't wow or amaze anybody.. Just averagely good doughnuts but nothing special to tell more people about in our opinion.
I just had the maple bacon donut, and all it tasted of was sweet lard. It left an "oily" aftertaste in my mouth. Dry,crumbly, and unimpressive. For the price, not worth it,in my opinion.I guess locally sourced ingredients means inferior product.
Its nice to have a shop close to home that isnt a chain, but come on....its only a donut, after all...
Yikes! Traveled far today to try these things. After seeing a few positive reviews I thought these were worth trying. However, they were disappointing. First, $3 a donut? These things were WAY too oily, and yet dry. They had no taste and were just bland. All I can say is they were boring, and not worth the money. Obviously the people rating these things so high either don't have ANY kind of sense of quality or they are family members or workers trying to hype the place. I really wanted to love these since I'm a donut lover, but these just don't cut it, unless you are stuck on the illusion that local is superior. Local should = cheaper and higher quality, neither of which appear from this shop. Maybe they should try baking them instead. Also, try putting some actual flavour into the different donuts. They all tasted almost the same.
This place thinks outside the box of the conventional donuts. I ate Maple Bourbon Bacon Donut. Sound crazy and taste like a gift from the gods. This is not fried dough with some sprinkles on it. They think outside the box and they deliver. You have to visit this place.
