I didn't expect to be reviewing an Artigiano's inside a London Drugs for my 200th review...
First of all, this is not a great place to be enjoying a coffee. If you are grabbing a coffee to go or while you shop at London Drugs, this is a decent choice since its conveniently located inside the store. However, its right next to the LD cash registers with their department store lighting so if you are looking to relax with some coffee and say read the paper, go elsewhere. There is actually another Artegiano's just a few blocks west on Broadway or Elysian across the street that are both much more relaxing.
As for the coffee, I have only had one Americano there and to be brutally honest, it tasted very bitter and just plain bad. I would have taken it back but I was half way down the block and couldn't be bothered. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt on the food rating since I assume they know how to make espresso drinks. Anyways, I wouldn't return unless I really needed some caffeine to make it through shopping at London Drugs.
This is my new favorite place for coffee!! Even though it's smaller and less attractive then other Artigianos, as well as the disadvantage of being tucked inside of London Drugs (hence the 4 stars for ambiance), the quality coffees are not compromised.
The cashiers were all very friendly with the small talks and always brings a smile to my face. The baristas are all terrific, consistenly making great lattes everytime. The one girl that work there have mad skills and pours the best art out of all the places I've been to. It is a shame to even take a sip out of it! I had a panini the other day and it was great as well, so I am sure their food are also up to the standard.
So far this have been my favorite location out of all the others I've been to. I just hope that the store is made a bit more private as people are constantly walking in and out of London drugs right behind the exposed sitting area which can be a little bit disturbing it you want a quiet place sit and relax. However this would be the perfect place to be if you just want a quick coffee on the go.
10/10
Been there a few times, but only for lattes and coffee beans, not their food.
They were most helpful when I bought beans recently and asked to see several roasts one after the other without any issues of having the sales cashier going back and forth all the time.
Also when I wanted to learn how to make the nice leaf designs on the foam, they let me watch and showed me how it's done, with some very helpful tips on foaming.
As for the coffee. It was the best damn tasting latte I have ever had.
The store is tucked inside the new London Drugs, so don't expect ambience, hence only 3 * for it.
