A coffee shop in the Marine Building.
I was in the DT and looking for a coffee when I spotted this place. I always liked the Marine Building, so I decided to give it a try. The ambiance was nice enough (it is a coffee shop), and it looked reasonably clean. The counter server seemed to be just standing around, and when I finally got her attention she seemed almost reluctant to take my order. Okay I thought, if I was you I would be unhappy too. I ordered a cafe mocha, and after a couple of minutes it was ready. I was surprised to see a 25 cent service charge tacked onto my bill, but I guess they needed the extra money. It would have been nice if some explanation was offered, even if it was just a sign by the till.
The coffee was a disappointment. It was watery and had little flavor. Plus there was neither foam nor cream on it. It was about as bad as vending machine java. With such ferocious competition in the area among coffee sellers, I was surprised at the poor showing here.
