Langos, Duck & Schnitzel

So sad that they are now closed for lunch and only open during dinner hours. I love their langos and their crispy duck (enough for 2-3 diners) is one of the best duck in the city and I can't get enuf of their pork or veal schnitzel. Service is ample which is good enough for me. I hope they open for lunch again soon as I work so close to the restaurant. Remember to rub lots of garlic on your langos.

It is advisable to make a reservation as this restaurant is small (28 seats) and we had to wait half an hour for a table. The wait was worth it as the food was excellent, we had the platter for two($31.95) of schnitzels, home-made sausages, very tasty cabbage rolls, potatoes, veggies etc. The red cabbage with cooked apples was perfect. There was enough to take home for another meal. A good variety of desserts priced at $3-$4. I am sure they would do well in larger premises as the quality of the food is so high, we will be back to try the goulash!

Great Hungarian food

Yes, the service isn't great. It's not rude, however. If you walk in knowing this, and if you're not in a hurry, you're in for a treat.

We haven't tried anything we didn't like... but highly recommended is the duck, of course. Their schnitzels and cabbage rolls are excellent as well... DO TRY langos - deep fried bread. Yes, I know, it sounds awful. When you try it, however, you'll know just what I mean. (this is the original 'elephant's ears').

Desserts are well-done and they alone would keep you coming back for more.

The service is very, very poor. I don't recommend this restaurant. The place is small, six or seven tables, and could be attended by one waiter. They had two on the floor who were incapable of looking after that few tables. The food is good but the experience isn't worth the trouble.

For Ducks Sake

We managed to cram a dozen friends in this small restaurant for a night of duck, duck and more duck - served with potato, cherry compote and apples mmmmmm. Crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside it may of been the best duck I have had and I have had my fair share of duck in my lifetime. We also tried some schnitzel which was also excellent. The service was attentive and friendly. They could do with lowering the lighting as it is a little bright in there but overall a good little spot and great value for money. Pre order the duck if you go, so not to be dissappointed!!
