Part of the Bubble World Franchise. Restaurant setting serving bubble tea and multitudes of specialty hot/cold drinks.
I've come here a couple of times and my most recent visit reaffirmed my feelings for this location. It was raining so we had little choice but to sit in. Not much to look at, 4 small tables riding up against the wall and not particularly clean.
The strawberry milktea was bland in fruit flavour, overpowered by the tea, though I would concede to the fact that strawberry season is over so the ripe berry flavour isn't there. It is mixed well with nicely crushed ice pellets however. The mango slush with coconut jelly I had before was actually quite good but was ruined by the bland, and clumped together gelatin.
This Bubble World location is certainly lacking some refinements compared to the other locations, considering the high traffic area and competition down the street it needs to step it up. I am willing to give this place a third try when I am in the mood and in the area.
My wife was craving for a bubble tea and we were in the area so we dropped in. We shared a Taro milky bubble tea w/o the pearls. I always thought taro was some paste or fruit but we found out that the taro bubble tea is a crystal powder. What else is added is some ice and I believe it was condensed milk. The consistency made it taste that it was some paste. But now seeing how it was made reminds me of a protein shake. Neithertheless it tasted good and refreshing. I noticed the shop itself and it looked like a typical cafe. Since it was a sunny day we ventured outside. We did not stay to drink our bubble tea inside but I noticed the ambiance was satisfactory, nothing special. The service was prompt and the value was good compared to a Starbuck's drink. Overall I would come again.
I have been craving bubble tea lately, and I got a coconut tea with coconut jelly from this place. I have to say it was a disappointment. The tea house was nice enough in a 7-11 way, and the staff seemed to know how to make tea, but the result was not great, especially for the price. The flavour of the watery tea was not good, and the jelly chunks wouldn’t go through the straw. Duh! That is sort of important…
Not my first choice.
If I had to sum up this place in a short phrase, it would be this: it’s alright. Don’t expect anything special, and everything will be fine. Servers were quick and nice, but our table was not very clean. I had to clean it myself with a napkin. The food and drinks were okay, I liked the milk strawberry mango slush. I didn’t like the noodle soup I ordered, but my friend said the egg fried rice she had was good. One positive aspect is definitely the great location. Heard the other Bubble World locations are better, maybe I will visit those next time instead of this one.
My girlfriend and I got there at around 11:30 half an hour before they closed. No other customers were there which made us wonder if the pearls would taste like marbles. After looking at the menu on the wall (which we later discovered was not the complete menu), I decided on the taro sluch while the boyfriend picked milky green tea. Service was quick since we were the only customers there. Eventhough the server didn't want to be there which is understandable because they were closing soon. We looked around at the place and didn't like the lime green walls and the table had a big stain on it that was sticky and smelly. We headed towards the back where there were several arcade machines. These too looked dirty and sticky. The boyfriend wanted to try it out but none of us had a quarters. We wonder if people actually play them. I got a chance to check out the bathroom, It was alright, what you would expect for these kind of places. However, someone should really give the walls a mopping. Then we got our drinks. The pearls and jelly were a good consistency. We both agreed that the milky green tea tasted better than the taro slush which was too sweet, and too cold. too cold drinks makes me cough. so would we head back to bubble world again? Sure, if we're in the area, and i hear it callin me.
