Here's something different - eating in an art gallery. Came here for brunch and wasn't disappointed.

FOOD: actually deserved 3.5 stars. We all had different types of benny's at our table and they were all very well done. The freshness and quality of ingredients really shone through - eggs done beautifully and my bacon was the best I've had by far. Accompanying salad could have used a bit more dressing but all in all a filling and good meal.

Service: Great but could be better. Servers were nice and professional. They may need a few more hands around the kitchen though, as the meal took a bit longer than it should to arrive. Also waited a while for the server to collect the payment.

VALUE: pretty reasonable for under 20 bucks / person.

AMBIANCE: eating good food, with good art around you.. what's not to like?

Recommended for a lazy Sunday.

It's an art gallery. It's a restaurant?

Umm... well, it's mostly an art gallery. I guess it doesn't make much money, so they decided to open the place up for brunch as well.
Is this a place you want to eat at? Some people do I guess.
Well, at least it isn't some slop-shod job. It is nicely done, so you don't feel like it's a "secondary source of income".

The servers are friendly enough. But the kitchen is slooooow. They certainly take their time making a meal.
At least the food is good. Made fresh and with good ingredients, no complaints there. You'll get your usuals, omellettes, benedicts and stuff, though the menu is not vast.
It is a bit pricey though.

So, is it worth a trip? Hmm... aaaah, hmmm.... no. Okay, so they do use good ingredients and the cooking is good, but the menu doesn't offer anything particularly exciting and with slow service and high prices to top it off, it kind of makes it off my list unless you're a real art gallery rat.

They make really great food here...all with free range eggs and organic veggies etc. The presentation of the food is very very nice...better than most high end hotels breakfast presentation. I've been here twice, and will keep coming back.

Service is great, food tastes great...easy to find parking. Only thing is its not 'cheap' for a brunch here...but hey...we only have brunch once a week at most! and its definately not overtly pricey...

Nice Place for Brunch

This was a nice surprise, a brunch in an art gallery. There were a bunch of tables at the front of the gallery and you could go browse a huge space of paintings as you walked into the rest of the gallery. Sitting at the tables at the front windows with the park across the street made for a really soothing atmosphere. Brunch was excellent, spoke to the chef who had great French accent, and that added to the feel of the whole set up. It was treat and worth checking out. Great place to bring a date.

One day afternoon, just drop by for brunch. It is a small restaurant. Only 10 tables.

Food and service is average, not very surprise me but it's good. All waiters dress nice and stylish, simile all the time.

Price is little bit over.

Ambiance: quiet, simple, comfortable and clean.

This is a good place to chat, relax and enjoy. Will come back when i am around that area.

Brunch with a touch of class

I’ve visited on a couple of occasions and left pleased each time. The enviroment is cheerful and elegant with it’s arwork and white linen tables, and the waitress on our first visit couldn’t have been more attentive and pleasant. The smoked salmon florentine benny was delicious and I ordered it on both visits. I love my hollandaise and theirs was light and done just right. I sampled my partner’s chorizo benny and it was also delicious with pesto but I’ll always be a hollandaise fan. On the second visit the service seemed less attentive but the gallery restaurant was full as opposed to our quiet visit on a Saturday. Perhaps we were spoiled with the service from our first go round. Price was good with the organic and freerange ingredients in their menu. A really nice setting that’s my new to-go place for brunch.

Great Place for Brunch

We arrived at 12 noon to find the restaurant quite full and were very glad that we had made a reservation. The menu is somewhat limited for brunch but has enough variety to please everyone. What I was impressed with is that it was obvious that the ingredients were very fresh and the plates were very well presented. Looked like there were about 20 to 25 seats, so the server and chef were kept very busy. Nice to actually see the chef in the background preparing the dishes to order with professionalism. Would definately go back for brunch and dinner menu sounds interesting.
Nice to see a restaurant that serves great food. Interesting to be surrounded by the art in the art gallery. We had a chance to wander the gallery after brunch.

A New Great Place to Brunch

I have to say this was one of the neatest places to brunch that I've seen in a long time. The restaurant is in the front end of a large renovated gallery space in an older building. With a little park across the street, the feel was soothing.

Our server had a strong accent, seemed a little green, but she was attentive and eager to please. I had the Eggs Florentine which had a nice lighter hollandaise, and the natural ham had a fresh taste. The entre was $13 but I guess not bad with the natural and organic ingredients. You also get a smattering of roasted potatoes (but not so much) some melon slices, and a smattering of mixed greens with a vinaigrette. Great place to take some out of town guests or just to enjoy a casual weekend late morning eat.

Solid Brunch Experience at an Art Gallery
By akaak of burnaby (3 Reviews)

I happened on this brunch place in an art gallery near Granville Island on the weekend. What a novel concept, and a very comfortable elegance and feel with the seating in the front section of a larger gallery space - very cool! Apparently they just started doing the brunch on the weekends as a way to get more visitors to the gallery. The Eggs Florentine was delicious and the coffee was very descent. There was a nice assortment of very small portions of roasted potatoes, a few fruit slices, and some mixed salads which made the entree a nice brunch with some variety. For $12.50 it was a darn descent meal. There was an emphasis on organic meats, eggs, and vegetables. For a new place they had a great brunch offering.

Brunch in an art gallery -- a creatively novel idea. My friends who had attended the opening of this unique restaurant venue absolutely raved about the amazing food. So, I had to satisfy my curiosity and try it out for myself this past weekend--everything was delectable. The servers were friendly and efficient, which ensured excellent service. The comfortable seating and tranquil view gave us an atmosphere of pure serenity. My friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will be going back very soon to try some of the other menu items. A great way to start the day!

I'm not a brunch person normally but wow, I didn't know eggs Benedict could be so could delicious and I've now become a brunch person! My friend invited me to the opening on the weekend and it was a very pleasant, beautiful, and probably the most unique restaurant location - it's inside a large gallery at the front with a dozen or more seats. The seating was comfortable, lots of natural light, and off to the right side of the front gallery counter near the kitchen, the chef was prepping at the front. I've never been to anything like it before and I will be definitely going back to try some other brunch items. The service was a bit slow but for an opening they still did a great job and so many things made the trip worthwhile.
