I am not really acquainted to many places in Vancouver so I looked up some good cafes and found this one. Based on the positive reviews it got, I decided to check it out for myself.
The restaurant is really neatly decorated, but it is a little small. The quality of the food is amazing – fresh and best of all, inexpensive. The pancakes I had were fluffy and delicious, and the scrambled eggs were good as well. Oh, they serve some amazing organic coffee here. I think the whole experience was enhanced because of the staff. They were really warm and friendly at all times, despite being rather busy when I went.
The organic coffee even the drip kind is the best I've had around Vancouver - The Brunch is the best , the food is made of the best quailty food and the place is relaxing and background music is always cool:) This place puts me in a good mood:). I've been eveywhere and this is the place to go for the best of Brunch- u can even get emails done happily and they even give homemade muffins with Hot Drinks :)
This is a tiny Point Grey cafe, with delicious coffee and fresh muffins.
Last week I brought my daughter and her friend from out of town and
the Brown Dog Cafe staff went above and beyond to make sure the girls had an amazing lunch.
The friend has food allergies and the smiliest girl ever gave her a complete list of several options.
The daughter only really likes things a particular way .... and with an extra few minutes the kitchen managed
that also !!
We had bison chili that was spicy and delicious, and I brought an extra bowl home with a homemade
granola bar.Daughter had an omelette filled with sauteed mushrooms and spinach and feta.
There is an info board that tells customers lots of info about the meat they use ( from 2 Rivers, who
just won a Vancouver Mag award ! ) and what is new at the cafe.
There is a charming board where people with brown dogs can pin up a picture of their dog . Sweet.
We'll be back !!!
I was supposed to go to jethro fine grub instead of brown dog on Monday August 6 but my first choice for breakfast was too busy. Oh my gosh what a bad choice that was. I will never ever go back again. Not only was it overpriced but the food came to our table after 40 minutes. There was only one table in the cafe. My boyfriend ordered an omelet that was dry and not very favorable. I ordered whole wheat pancakes with blueberries. After eating the pancakes I noticed that the pancakes contained bananas. It would not be so bad but I have a food allergy to bananas. Thank god it is not life threatening otherwise I would be writing this from the hospital. When I spoke to the cook/owner about my concern. She apologized but then proceeded to state that t was actually my fault for not telling the waitress of my allergy. The menu did not say that the pancakes contained any bananas so as a customer I assumed that the pancakes did not contain bananas. Instead of being sincere with her concern about a customer's well being she continued to say that it was in fact my fault for
not telling them about any allergies. I will never recommend or go to brown dog again. Other restaurants would have given us a discount on our next meal or on our bill. Brown dog poop cafe
