This is not a restaurant per se - it is a bakery in a small mall at Champlain Square. There are a few tables nearby that are used for a Chinese take out place (Tasty Wok), Bob's Deli, Gourmet Cup and whatever one might decide to pick up at Extra Foods.
I have had the cheese bread, cheese sticks, ham and cheese cressant, sausage rolls and cookies at Bonnies. I like the ham and cheese cressants and sausage rolls. The cheese bread is okay - but I bit steeply priced. The cookies are a tad expensive too. There are also donuts for about $0.95 which are just okay, but go good with a coffee from Gourmet Cup.
Service is friendly and prompt.
All in all, this is not a place for bargains. I find better baked good at more reasonable prices at other bakeries. However, this is the only bakery (outside Extra Foods) in the area - so if you want a little nibble and don't want to travel far outside of Champlain Heights - this is it.
Not worth travelling to - but okay if in area.
This place has been around for over 30 years! My mom took me here since before I can remember. It is the ONLY surviving business from the original Champlain Mall. What does that tell you? Though I believe the first owner sold this business years ago, it is still consistently exactly the same in terms of recipes. The prices have barely changed. You can get a loaf of bread for less than a $1.50, 1/2 doz dinner rolls for the same, and my absolute favourite is their lemon meringue pie. 6" of YUM for less then $4! I hope this place NEVER closes.
