We enjoyed our experience here immensely. The food was done to perfection. The desserts were particularly great! Our server was very helpful, with an excellent knowledge of wine. It was my first experience eating deer meat, and it was really good! The atmosphere was excellent, nothing spectacular. Would definitely return.
While bishops is rumored to be one of the best restaurants in Vancouver, my experience was less than thrilling. I had the crab leg salad to start, and the Pemberton beef tenderloin as my entree. While the service was hospitable, my entree was overdone; not something you expect if you're going to drop $45 on a steak.
Overall the experience was good, but I was just hoping for more given what I had heard about the restaurant.
Having heard raves about this restaurant, we were looking forward to going there with an old friend for her birthday. Someplace special....hmm more like so so! 1 1/2 hours for dinner is a little less then perfect to me. Food was decent, not great. I probably would have had a little more wine if I hadn't needed to go and get it for myself. When we did see a waiter, they were very attentive, just not often enough. When we left, we asked each other how they felt....Not a place for a second visit.
