Best Shawarma in the city

Babylon definitely stands out for its quality of shawarmas in Vancouver. The place itself is not the most spacious or fancy to be in, so I usually order to-go. The interiors however do not match up to the quality of the food but there's always adjustments to make here and there. You can for example sit outside and enjoy the view of the bay. The chicken shawarma is extremely delicious, the quality of the meat is great and the chicken is marinated with all sorts of yummy flavours. Best value for your buck here, a wrap is around 8 dollars and 1 dollar extra if you get a plate. The Chicken Shawarma and falafel is a must.

Small cafe that serves middle-eastern and mediteranean food. We had the falafel sandwich and the chicken shawarma. Both we're great and very filling. I'm usually not a fan of microwaved falafel, but this was very, very good, and the food was prepared in a timely manner. You might want to get it for takeout since there aren't too many places to sit.

West end resident

This has been our third time there and it just keeps getting better. Best value and taste for middle eastern food. Friendly staff, awesome portions, great tasting. Best westend in their category in a block of 3 other competitors. The 4 star rating was not hard to give in this case and you will not be disappointed. Just opened in fall of 2009 but don't be fooled just because the place does not look busy. Not really setup up to dine in but in the warm months who cares and in the winter in goes well with hockey games.

One of the best in the West End

I used to live close to Denman when this place opened, and I got addicted to their food from the first bite. They have a fast turnaround, and food is always fresh and flavourful. I've been to the other Babylon Cafe on Robson, but the Denman location is better because they have shawarma plates, not just wraps. The plates have huge portions and are filled to the brim with fresh cut shawarma meat (chicken is the best), rice, salad, and potatoes, perfect for eating at the beach nearby. The service is always friendly, and it's mostly a takeout place, so ambiance is not important. I still come back even though I'm no longer in the neighbourhood. Highly recommended.

My favourite Lebanese restaurant

This is my favourite take out style Lebanese restaurant! The chicken shawarma plate is an amazing deal and really delicious - I love that I can get brown rice (so flavourful!) instead of white and whole wheat pita as well. The guys who work there are always really nice and friendly. Also, the location is perfect too...you can take your meal to go and eat it while watching the sunset at English Bay.
