Andy's Bakery has been offering fresh rye breads, homestyle lunches and more for over 30 years on Commercial Drive.
I began going to Andy's Bakery a few weeks ago and I have to say it has great soups, sandwiches and the nices and sweetest lady there.
The soups are all "homemade" and really good. I got hooked on the pea soup which has some sausages, pea and other ingredients that I can figure out (LOL), but it awesome on a cold day! The sandwiches are not bad, but the buns were hard to chew.
The service was great. The little lady that runs the store front was just so sweet. She talks to you in a way that makes you feel like your in a dream. When your paying for your food, she explains what and the amount you being charge. She says it in a really cute and adorable way. You just have to be there in person to understand what I mean!
When I was going to Britannia, years ago, Andy's bakery was one of my favorite haunts ( Tony's was the other ). Though I haven't been there in a long time and I know they have downsided..it's great that people still acknowldege what great baked goods they have and great service they gave. I've always had great service there ( yes, even young punk kid like myself still had great service ). If I'm ever in the area again, I'll have to take "Bobeater's" suggestion and check out this sweet lady working there.
