Since the new owner took over, Jennifer Mickey, she has really ensured that the attention to detail is maintained in every aspect. In doing so, she makes taking over principal operation for a company look effortless. This is backed by the work ethic of the staff and she defines the "lead by example" philosophy to a tee. These solid pillars will increase the return on investiment and to providing a comfortable and classy Davie Village establishment that will set the bar for a space that is versatile for any event that should be lucky enough to be held there. Every bar - pub - lounge on Davie should take a page from the 1181 book on how you create and maintain a regular clientele.

Food -

Was varied in flavor and complexity and would be seen on any fine dining restaurant menu. I do believe it was catered for the event and was flawlessly executed.

Service -

Was top shelf, no pressure from the staff, always smiling, helpful and accomodating to everyones varied tastes. In addition to their product knowledge gives them the confidence to make true recommendations. Coming from a fine dining background myself, along with over 10 years of direct face-to-face management in various restaurant - bar/lounge venues, trust that all areas reviewed come from an industry professional's critical eye.

Value -

With the pricing inclusive of all taxes and additional charges (excluding gratuity), there really was clear defined pricing that was within reason considering that many of the beverages are made from real fruits and juices. There was a good business accumen in the selection, layout and pricing of the menu items, leaving no room for error.

Ambiance -

The recent updates prior to the re-launch left no nook or cranny untouched. The decor is simply sophisticated without any pretencious overtones. Everything comes together perfectly to make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. The colour and design has clear crisp lines, the little things were noticeably identified and corrected showing that the "attention to detail" business standard is maintained in every aspect of the space.
