Ordered pho (noodle in soup) that was advertsed on a big banner at the front of the store. It was noodle in soup and a spring roll.

When i received the food, the noodles wasnt even pho noodles (rice noodles or the
typical pho noodles). instead it was some kind of Chinese noodles that my mom makes (im Chinese). Never had these kind of noodles in pho EVER. And ive been around to quite a few pho places all around Toronto. The portion was INCREDIBLY small. It did not fill me at all even though I had some snacks an hour before. The portion of a small in other pho restuarants have atleast two times the amount. On top of that, I did not get my friggen spring roll that was supposed to be given with the meal!! It fully says on the banner that it includes a spring roll. And yes they did have spring rolls available. I paid about $7.50 for this XX small pho when I coulda got a better tasting, ACTUAL pho noodle at any other pho restaurant. I got mislead to buying this and got some other crap.

This restaurant has A LOT of variety:
-Burgers
-Pizza
-Philly Cheesesteak
-Chicken burgers
-Fried Chicken
-Ice Cream
-French Fries
and more...

These people are really cool too. You can call them ahead of time and ask them to put the burger on the grill before you get there, so when you arrive its ready!

Its more of a drop in place then a 'go out to eat' type place.

Good food, good price, nice people. No complaints.

The food here has always been really tasty. Just make sure Ron or Trong are working the kitchen. Sometimes the service is slower, but that's usually due to there being only one waitress working the floor and tending the bar at the same time. Most of the wait staff are friendly, particularly Vivian and Nancy. If the owners/management took a little extra time to make the place work more efficiently and to ensure customers are satisfied, this bar could be a great little gem in the neighborhood. I recommend the wings for sure, but also your choice of 'poutine-like' fries with all the fixin's.

This Wednesday evening, however (no special this day), I finally tried out the ribs. As many places that claim the 'fall off the bone' feature, this half rack of tender pork did just that. The taste, as usual was scrumptious as their sauces are what make this place a favourite. Perhaps my predilection for naked wet chicken wings has something to do with it, and this was no different for the ribs. Tonight I got 'Jacked Up' with 5 wings and fries to accompany my half rack of swine dinner. $22.95 a fair price for a great meal. I did notice that their calamari was removed from the menu (sadly) and other menu items go up a bit in price, but that won't stop me from my weekly visit for a drink and good food.

Other Favourites:
'Aces High' and 'Desperado' Fries
'Rhinestone Boots/Sweet Escape/Dirty Nelly/Gar Par' Wings
'BCP Poppers' for the appetizer.
oh yeah... chocolate milk, if they have any :p

I gave a 3 for Ambiance as it was a dead night.

The Corner Place is a great little spot - whether you're on a date night, dining or drinking with a big group of friends or just want to meet some people from the neighbourhood. The food is great and trying the new specials is always fun. The staff and service are great and the owner (Charles) always does a great job helping you coordinate a private event.

Definitely need to try this place out if you haven't already!

The Corner Place just catered our "Summer's End Party"....food was excellent....arrived on time....hot and was delectable. We have held Business Meetings and other Special Events at the Restaurant.....very pleased.

Everything I have tried at the restaurant has been exceptional....for quality food & drink....prices are very reasonable....and their service is very good.

Great place to drop in after work and relax after a hard day....Happy Hour is between 4 & 8....beer is only $3. In Toronto! Where else can you find that?

I am going tonight.....ribs are fantastic....can taste it already. Come join me.

I came here with a group of friends and dined for over 1 hour. The food was superb, the mango salad with chicken and shrimp was simply amazing. We had a variety of dishes and they were all above our expectations for a Viet restaurant.

The atmostphere is completely different from other Viet restaurants I have ever been to. The service is also quite different.

Might I add, the facilities spotlessly clean, which is a plus. My new hang out. We have been back several times since and the food and people..still great..

I use to go here everyday for lunch back when I was in high school. The staff were always very friendly to us students and the owner/manager would on occasion give us free cookies! The food here is delicious, you can't go wrong with their club or roast beef sandwich on their fresh egg bread. I also recommend getting the "daily hot special" if you're really hungry and want something warm in the winter months. Overall, Select Sandwich on Yorkland Boulevard is a very inviting little place that certainly adds warmth to an otherwise cold commercial strip.

Watch out for your take-out order
By The2FoodCritic of Toronto ON, Canada (2 Reviews)
Submitted Tuesday, August 28, 2012 - 6:09pm [Take-out]

I went in to order a take-out order and another person had ordered ahead of me a pork combo that included a drink and her choice of side. I ordered after her a pork dinner combo that included garlic bread, tzatziki, rice and potatoe and included honey sticks. And it was a girl that was new that took both our order, but a younger guy was the one that gave the order out. He said pork dinner, and the other girl went and got it, 15 min later she came in saying where was my drink and the guy said there's no drink. And when my order was done I was just being careful and asked if it was a pork dinner, he said its a combo. A word to people who throw out there receipt keep it!! I showed him the receipt and they had to do the proper order. Instead of waiting 15 min for a right order I waited 45 min, it was a nice gesture to give me the other girls order but I would rather have had the right order the first time. And to my surprise no garlic bread, so to that other girl hope you enjoy the garlic bread you weren't suppose to get. The meat is not as good as I hope has lots of fat in the meat. Hit and miss on this place. MR. GREEK will never be top.... So watch your order especially when there's two people doing the take-out order. And to the guy, I know the girl was new she didn't mess up the take out order YOU did.

The Best Indian Food in Toronto
By Mister English of Toronto East (1 Review)
Submitted Thursday, August 2, 2012 - 1:27pm [Dine in]

I'm Retired. I have two favourite foods - Indo/Pakistani, and Greek - and have been visiting Indian restaurants for over 50 years - approximately 23 in the UK, where the Indian restaurants are superb, and 29 in the Greater Toronto Area. After I'd searched for my ideal Canadian, Indian Restaurant for about 25 years in the GTA, I finally found a little Indian restaurant I liked - next door to Murphy's Law, Irish Pub, called Real Taste of India. It has since changed its name the The Mumbai House (TMH).

I can truthfully say that it's the ONLY Indian restaurant I've found (among dozens over the years) that I would ever recommend to my family and friends in the UK. The place might be described as a bit of a hole-in-the-wall (a small and certainly not posh place), but their service is great, and food by far the best Indo/Pakistani food I've had in Toronto!

We've visited a number of times over the past 4 years since we found it (we can't afford to eat out often), and apart from very occasionally trying food elsewhere (in the vain hope they can match TMH), we have never found Indian food to match it: it's the nearest to the wonderful Indo/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food in the UK you'll ever find.

Dhansak dishes (Parsi food) are my favourite. Not only is the Dhansak (chicken or Lamb) good, but so are their Saag Panir, Fish Masala, Vegetarian Korma, Baigon Bhurtha and Aloo Gobi, which go well with Pulao Rice, Tandoori Roti and Naan. My wife's family all raved about it after we took them there - as I always do, and all want to join us when we go there. It is one of only two restaurants that have genuine Dhansak (as found in the UK) on their menu, the other being no better, more expensive, and having the worst service my wife and I have ever experienced (it will thus remain nameless). Reviewers on other websites have carped about the a-la-carte prices (no buffet) because TMH is close to the Little India area, but even most of those people - with the odd exception - agree that the food itself is excellent. Just more expensive than Little India.
I rate them 9.5 out of 10 for their food, my next best Indian Restaurant rating not exceeding 8 out of 10! As they say, the proof is in the eating, and I assure you their food is very good. BTW, they also cater and do take-out.

Price for 2 with good appetites, approximately $40.00. No beer and no wine.

The place is small, the decor is less than adequate and the food was unpredictable. We have been there on a few occasions and the same dishes never come out the same. The springrolls are either overcooked, greasy or tasteless. The Noodle soup is either too salty or has no taste. The food was great the first time we tried a few years back but has been lacking since. The service is sub standard, waitresses only serve the people who are drinking and is less than happy when we commented on the food. The value I guess is decent but for the quality of food and service. Not worth it.

Not great atmosphere, place was cramped. Didn't have to wait long. Food was decent although my Noodle soup came out cold. Had to ask for a replacement. They were less than eager to do so. The Waitresses are loud and will stand right next to you while you are eating. Not good place for get together maybe for quick meal. Their prices are ok for the meal and atmosphere.

My dinner was exceptional. Unlike other cramped and always rushed viet restaurant, forget me not cafe has great ambience, exceptional food and made us feel like our hour there was welcomed. The PHO was really good and the specialty items was also a great experience. service by far is better than any other Asian restaurant we have been to. Definitely would return. The prices are very reasonable as well.

the servers lack common sense. you get greeted sometimes, when seated outside they fail to bring you the bucket and paper towel...you know things you need when you eat wings?...had a vodka tonic and honestly it tasted like warm vodka water. they are always out of wine and other things. the servers dont know anything about the menu, the answer is always "let me go ask". not enough sauce on wings. the only thing nice about this place is the womens washroom. (the design). only reason i go its cuz its close to my house but everytime i go its the same thing, i guess mangment doesnt care. deffinitly not going back again EVER!!! rather spend an hour on the bus to go somehwere where i can enjoy myself then come here and know the menu better then the servers.

Not Good

Submitted Saturday, July 21, 2012 - 6:44pm [Dine in]

Decided to go for dinner because of the positive Toronto Life review. Boy did they get it wrong. I had the antipasto and Pizza 'nduja. My companion had the seafood scialatielli. We waited for almost 20 minutes for the antipasto to arrive which is unacceptable for a dish that needs no cooking. It finally came, and was just a pile of meat and cheese, with no accompanying olives or marinated vegetable to cut the oiliness of the meats. Then, before we finished the antipasto, the server brought my companions scialatielli. Two of the clams were closed, and when my companion asked for more mussels instead, the server merely said it was supposed to be that way, and brought it to the kitchen to pry them open. The pasta was also undercooked (not just al dente) and the server said that's how they do it. He didn't offer any consolations. Then my pizza arrived. It was mostly a mound of doughy crust, too-acidic sauce, and gloupy cheese. There was hardly any 'nduja (which the sever even pronounced wrong) and it was soggy. The only redeeming factor was a different server who offered us desert and coffee on him, which we politely declined. Toronto Life stated that the pizza was on par with Libretto or Queen Margherita, but it was even close. The menu was typical Italian fare, nothing special. Too bad, it would have been nice to have a place like Libretto or QM so close to my home.

A bunch of friends and I go to this location at least twice a week, once for wings and the second time for burgers. Every day they have some sort of drink special. And the staff is really awesome at this location. They have a really nice patio in the back , the waterfall sounds nice. I have to say they have the coldest beers on the block. If your looking for great food and a chill atmosphere check this place out.
