I love this place because it looks like France. Small but cute! I came here without being hungry but just by being here seeing things and smelling the crepes made me hungry in an instant haha. Plus the owner comes right up to you and is so nice and chatty that you feel like you need to stay.
The crepes are really thin and made pretty quickly, they are made in front of you infact. You should eat them with nutella if you don't. One thing i also liked was their house drink, the limonana was really nice.
There is so much to pick here it is difficult to know where to begin. This place is seriously candyland. There are over 100 flavours to choose from, which is ridiculous! If I lived here I'd be here all day and probably gain a couple of pounds haha. The worst part is that it is self-serve, so you can imagine how that went. I liked the blackberry avalanche flavour and some of the toppings I remember are dark raspberry truffle cups, mini m&ms and reeses (that's all that I remember lol).
While waiting at the hot table to order a woman shoved past me (there was plenty of space to walk around) and didn't say anything. I said excuse me, if you push someone you can always say you're sorry. She said that I was inappropriately dressed for a pregnant woman (nothing revealing, not that that would justify anything but you could see the shape of my belly button though my shirt, baby pushing it out). She said "I don't need to know if you have an "inny" or an "outy". It then became clear that she had indeed pushed me on purpose because of this.
I spoke with the manager and said I felt she should be asked to leave as I felt very uncomfortable shopping with her. The manager said that she is a loyal customer and that I instigated the whole thing. I informed him that if she didn't leave I would and I would never shop there again and he was quite content with this.
I like their food but it will never taste good to me again. It is unfortunate that at times people prey on the vulnerability of pregnant women and that the management of this store chose to support that.
I frequently like to go to this place for lunch and sometimes dinner - the prices are good and the food is quick.
The people are friendly and fast - it's always the same three people a guy who serves and takes the orders and two women in the back cooking the meals. Don't expect to make too many modifications to your meal though, they are specific recipes to be made a certain way - but that's OK, they are delicious they way they are made and shouldn't be changed - they are classic recipes.
If you have any questions about what something is on the menu, the server is helpul at clarifying. The server is also exceptionally attentive.
The decor isn't fancy, but the price and taste more than make up for it.
I would recommend anything I've tried:
Pad Woon Sen
Basil Pad Woon Sen
shrimp tom yum soup
I still plan on going back and trying their red and green curries!
I have gone to this place several times, and have found recently the quality of take out sushi has gone down - it used to be great!. I often order small trays for lunch, or bring a medium sized tray home for dinner, the last few times I have been missing a number of pieces of sushi - I have to double check everytime because they seal the container in a bag. The last larger tray I received had mostly salmon and only a few other pieces of assorted fish - before I even opened the bag to look inside to count my pieces, the sushi chef told me he made a mistake and forgot to give me some, so this short changing of sushi seems common and purposeful.
I ordered a chicken souvlaki pita for roughly $5, I'm not sure I actually got chicken - it could have been pork based on the colour and taste. The tziki had very little flavour and seemed watery. I received one very thinly sliced piece of tomato and a small amount of iceberg lettuce. I had to ask for a second tomato and extra lettuce so my wrap actually felt like it had substance and I also did not receive any feta. The wrap/pita was slopped together by folding it in half so most of the items fell out when it was being eaten.
I have had other items here, such as a chicken salad, but you have to be very precise in ordering what you want in it, otherwise they leave quite a few mainstay salad items out.
The place is not very pricey relative to other restaurants in the building so it will still draw people who work in the office towers.
The place has fast service, but very rushed. They are used to doing things a very particular way and seem to get confused easily if you ask for something slightly different.
This place could be much improved with just a few simple changes.
I was always under the impression that no matter the location, KFC would always taste the same. It's generally what you expect when you go to a fast food place, you know what your are getting. However, I have found that is not the case with this particular location. In fact, I would argue it is one of the worst KFC's I've been to. And it has been like this for a long time. I always think maybe this time will be different if I ever pick it up from this location, but this has been the case for a long time.
Food - The quality is consistently poor. The chicken is typically very dry, to the point where you can just lift the skin off. It makes me wonder if they cook the chickens in the morning and just leave them under the lamp to keep them warm. Not once have I ever thought the chicken was fresh. The chickens also seem fatty, with very little meat on them. Other orders, such as popcorn chicken, or chicken strips, are mediocre to adequate.
Now for a while, I just assumed KFC had gone down hill. Sometimes, a fast food chain will change up their menu in a way you don't like, or their standards begin to drop. I thought that was until I picked up a bucket and another location. The difference was night and day. This other location tasted fresh, moist, and actually had meat on it. The difference was so great, that I came to the conclusion that quality is not necessarily a guarantee. Why was there such a difference between the two locations? I'm guessing the poor location has poor standards, and is cutting costs by giving a mediocre product. That, or the employees don't know what KFC chicken is supposed to taste like. I can't imagine anyone who works as a quality tester for the company would give this place a passing grade.
Service - Now here is why I actually continue to go here. It's not that the service is fantastic. This is still a fast food counter located in a mall. No, the reason I go is because there is almost never a line, sometimes never even a person standing at the counter. And I usually don't have to wait for more than two or three minutes for my order. But this goes back to the quality. I think the reason it draws such weak business (I'm generally there at a weekend) is because people know of its poor quality. That, and I don't think they are taking their time to make fresh orders. Again, there's is always the feeling that it has been placed under a lamp and is just waiting for you to buy it. The staff are perfectly nice, I've never had a problem with my order, just know that there is probably a reason why you got your order so quickly.
Value - As I've said, the food is lousy. At the end of the day, even if it is fast food, quality must come first. For the same price I could go to another chicken franchise, and get fresh chicken, and a biscuit, for the same price. I like KFC, and it's because I like it that I hope people steer clear and try another location if they're in the mood for it.
- every single table littered with previous eater's food and/ or wrappers @ 11am
- 6 people behind counter doing nothing
- milkshake machine ALWAYS broken
- immovable pedestal table seating forces you to be at butt level with those waiting in line to order, nice view to eat lunch...not.
- waited longer for the fries which came col- worst mcdonald's ever, glad I don't eat there often, won't be again
Avoid this place altogether. This establishment is more interested in who parks in front of their store rather than treating potential customers well! I was running errands at a neighbouring business and then planned to buy coffee and pastries for my family who waited in the car. I didn't make it into the bakery because I was yelled at for parking in front of the store. Wow! Shocking. For a local neighbourhood place, the server or owner (?) had a giant chip on their shoulder. Isn't everyone a potential customer?
Looked like a quaint place but the attitude and overall ambiance was horrible. Avoid - especially if you have a car and are looking to park!
The Pizza and Panzo at 2141 Kipling ave in Rexdale Pizzaville was amazing, the best Pizza and Panzo I ever had and the staff serving me were very friendly. They also have chicken wings, pasta, wedges, gluten free dough and salad. I definitely recommend this place and can't stop going there. The manager gave me the store number to call before coming there to order so I don't even have to wait for my food to get ready. here is they're number 416-741-3750 Cheers!
Went at 12:30, was ignored for the longest time. Finally went to the bar and had a seat. Order a pint and then asked for the menu. Bar tender hemmed and hawed and for a minute and finally said "sorry the kitchen is closed".
Much before the advertised close time of 1am. They charged me $9 for a pint.
Total and utter rip off. Never coming here again.
Sheer amazing customer service, this is what it's all about folks. After accidentally dropping our original pizza(Which I was perfectly fine with, it was in perfect condition still) the man comes back a half hour later with a free new pizza the same as we had ordered before. It was completely unnecessary and a really nice surprise. All on top of this he was just a really great guy. If he's somehow reading this, thank you mystery delivery man, you made my week.
Would definitely recommend this particular venue!
Great Healthy Home Cooking... The third generation of this family run Bakery & Deli has continued the warm atmosphere with tasty daily meals at the hot table, wonderful sangwiches, take your favourite bun from the bakery take it to the deli counter! Then stop by the pastries counter for those special almond cookies and pickup that birthday cake while your at it! Enjoy!
The place is racist. All the employees are Filipino so I guess the owner is Filipino too. I once saw their baker a guy by the name of Reynald or something like that go to the washroom and not wash his hands. I reported it to the manager and of course nothing was done. That guy is still there. I hope he doesn't bake company goods at home! (anything possible with these people to save money) since most of them live in apartments close by. I saw their unhygienic kitchen and same people cooking and cleaning and don't go there anymore.
You won't come away hungry here. For $5, including tax, you receive a Friday special of a large piece of breaded sole with rice, potato or pasta. Meals are basic - not highly spiced and nothing out of the ordinary but service is quick and local regulars know the counter man by name. This is not a gourmet spot. The place is clean enough and certainly good enough for the price.
I am from North part of India. One of my South Indian friend suggested me to have dosa with curries. We went to Dosa Darbar and ordered plain dosas with paneer butter masala, palak paneer and butter chicken. The dosas were served with 3 chutneys and sambar. We kept ordering plain dosas as they were more tasty with the curries ordered. All of us had a good new experience. You can try and let me know how you liked it.
Delicious pizza, fresh ingredients, nice, hard working people. The greek salad is by far my favourite of their salads. The quality in general is very good, at such a low price. Because it is a small, private business, the orders take some time to be prepared, WARNING this is not like those fast- food, already made take-outs , everything is prepared on the spot and is very fresh. Our family always enjoys ordering from this family-run business.
The pizza is pretty good for the price. The family run business are always friendly to my girlfriend and I. Its affordable pizza that hits the spot. Great for parties, large events, save $$$ buy from here. Best quality-for price point, if you want gourmet pizza go down the street and pay an arm and a leg for it. If you want good hot food and a good price come here.
I always enjoy going to 521,staff is friendly owners r always there to make sure business is running well. This cafe is right at heart of Greek Town the best part is crowd is decent. I definitely recommend it especially in summer time, now they are expanding the cafe as well as it's getting busier!!
This is the first time I tried popeyes , I'm not a big fan of fried chicken but I must say , it's really worth it .I had spicy tenders mummmm !!! soo good .Will go again for sure .Staff was friendly and quick , restaurant was clean .So far its the fried chicken option available in Greek Town.
