Pizzeria Libretto uses a wood fired oven at extremely high heat to achieve a charred, blistered crust. Fresh ingredients including San Marzano tomatoes and Fiore di Latte Mozzarella. $25 prix fixe menu that includes bruschetta, salad, pizza and desert.
I really enjoyed the pizza here. I ordered the prix fixe dinner which includes an appetizer, salad and a pizza. This is a great value when you consider all the food you are getting for $25. It went very well with a couple of Peronis and an espresso at the end. I was a little surprised at how burnt the pizza was but what do I know about real Neapolitan pizza, obviously not much. I would return if in the area or in Toronto.
Compared to the one in Danforth location and this one, I'll stay with this one. Everytime I come here though I have to wait in line for a long time, but the pizza here is worth it. If you want traditional Neapolitan pizza that is. Fun fact, Pizzeria Libretto is one of the few Italian or pizza places that is certified by the VPN! Which means that the pizza is actually made in the right style like it is done back home, with the wood oven and all.
I love the sights and smells of this place, the only problem I have is that sometimes my pizza comes burnt on the sides and stuff. Pizzas are large and cost about $15 in general. I always get the Margherita, which is simply great. There are other things to order as well, like salads and pastas. The meatballs is a safe dish for me that never comes out bad. Staff is also super nice and helpful, never seen one act bad or accidentally "forget" to check up on you.
