I went to this restaurant last night. I saw a crowd of people outside and thought I must have made the right choice given the amount people inside and out. We were seated promptly, inside near the window facing the jazz festival.
Our server came by with our menus, asked for our drink order - we hadn't received the cocktail menu yet. After receiving it we ordered our drinks and entrees at the same time. We waited patiently for our drinks, hoping to receive at least a glass of water while we waited.
We finally received our food, still waiting for our drinks. After seeing our food arrive, our server sought our drinks. After which he brought the complimentary bread & spreads we should have started with. I ordered the $26 salmon dish,a small piece of overcooked frozen salmon on a bed of raw spinach - $26. I had the $11 Pear-adise, a watered down cocktail with a lot of ice to water it down further. The salmon was poorly seasoned, poorly cooked and overpriced. My friend had the stir fry - which was somewhat palatable, and a watered down berry cocktail similar to mine.
After picking at the salmon, I asked the server if the dish only comes with spinach, no it should come with salad he says. He goes to the kitchen to get a dish full of raw spinach, apologizing for the error. There are no words. The salmon is inedible, the complimentary bread is like melba toast and I can`t wait to leave. We push our unfinished meals to the end of the table to indicate we`re done. Not taking cues, I waved our server over to bring the bill. Apologizing more, he offers free dessert and coffee.
Everything we`ve consumed so far is awful. I doubt dessert would be any different and insisted on the cheque. A $75 bill for 2 unpleasant meals and service. Everything is overpriced and poorly prepared. Go to Moxies, we had lunch there earlier in the day, the food and service was great; or Joey which is across the courtyard from this restaurant, they`ve never failed me.
Please do not eat here. It was an awful experience.
