Gilead Café & Bistro has a warm, inviting atmosphere, the menus are written on the chalk board. Offering pastries, Steel Cut Oats Porridge, Oven heated ham and cheese croissant, coffee, lattes, specialty teas and an endless variety of baked goods, rustic sandwiches and soups, there is something for everyone. The menu is created from locally grown and sourced ingredients.
I don't know how else to describe my experience at Gilead other than "underwhelmed". I had heard that they have a killer burger so thats what I ordered. It was okay but was lacking toppings with three tiny slices of pickle, lettuce and cheese. I also wasn't a big fan of the "sourdough english muffin"-style bun. However, I did like the homemade ketchup and horse radish cream sauce, it was very tasty. Also, subjecting your customers to loud Beatles music is cruel and unusual punishment. Not that I have anything against the Beatles, but maybe a mix would be nice. Overall, I think I need to go back and give them another try because maybe I just came on an off day.
